In Gratitude, We Serve Holy Spirit

…the Holy Spirit waits in gentle patience, as certain of the outcome as He is sure of His Creator’s Love. He knows this mad decision was made by one as dear to His Creator as love is to itself.

Be not disturbed at all to think how He can change the role of means and end so easily in what God loves, and would have free forever. But be you rather grateful that you can be the means to serve His end. This is the only service that leads to freedom. To serve this end the body must be perceived as sinless, because the goal is sinlessness. The lack of contradiction makes the soft transition from means to end as easy as is the shift from hate to gratitude before forgiving eyes. (A Course in Miracles, T-22.VI.2:4-3:5. Holy Spirit, today I would be an instrument of Your peace… Today I accept Your forgiving vision to see the innocence in all my brothers… Today I would be your instrument, extending healing to the world… Today I would serve only Your Will… I would be still and listen… Today I would serve Your pathway of Light, which leads to freedom.

Say Yes to Love

Do we want to know God? We just need to say yes to Love.

Do we want a sense of safety and certainty that all our needs are met? Just say yes to Love.

Do we want to know and experience peace that cannot be disturbed? Say yes to Love.

Do we want joy beyond words and appreciation for our brothers that overflows from our hearts? Say yes to Love.

Do we want to know our innocence and see innocence everywhere? Say yes to Love.

Do we want to be free of stress and fear? Say yes to Love.

All that we really want comes when we say yes to Love.

You Are What Love Is

No course whose purpose is to teach you to remember what you really are could fail to emphasize that there can never be a difference in what you really are and what love is. Love’s meaning is your own, and shared by God Himself. For what you are is what He is. There is no love but His, and what He is, is everything there is. There is no limit placed upon Himself, and so are you unlimited as well. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 127, W-pI.127.4. See also ACIM Lesson 127 Insights.)

If we are not experiencing the unity and peace and joy of Love, then we are quite literally “beside” our Self. We are believing we are a substitute identity that is excluded from Love. To return to awareness of What we are, we must let go of identifying with a false substitute.

Our safety, our joy and our only true fulfillment comes with accepting and extending only Love. There is nothing else. When we let Love motivate all our doing, we serve as Love’s extension. We bless in each moment and experience Love’s blessing.

Today we open to experiencing the Love we are by letting Love inspire our thoughts and actions.

I Would Guide Myself No More

I did not understand what made me free, nor what my freedom is, nor where to look to find it. Father, I have searched in vain until I heard Your Voice directing me. Now I would guide myself no more. For I have neither made nor understood the way to find my freedom. But I trust in You. You Who endowed me with my freedom as Your holy Son will not be lost to me. Your Voice directs me, and the way to You is opening and clear to me at last. Father, my freedom is in You alone. Father, it is my will that I return. The ego is the guide to limitation. It is the choice to be limited and separate and attempt to claim a portion of Love to call its own. Yet Love is one and cannot be limited. Limitation is the opposite of freedom. If we ask the ego to guide us to freedom, we will never find it. When we think we are a separate identity and try to find our way out of a world of separation, we will only spin our wheels, going nowhere. The ego is trying to be nowhere instead of everywhere.

By the grace of God, we have a Guide Who knows no limitation, only the oneness of Love. We are free to be this limitless Love in every instant, but we must accept the Guidance of the Voice that knows the truth of What we are. It is not deceived by false images. Its sole purpose is to guide us to the freedom that is eternally ours, now and forever. By making the decision to accept the guidance of God’s Voice and guide ourselves no more, we make the decision for freedom. We accept Heaven as our Home.

Allow His Voice to Teach Love’s Meaning

…be glad to give some time to God today, and understand there is no better use for time than this.

…Open your mind and rest. The world that seems to hold you prisoner can be escaped by anyone who does not hold it dear. Withdraw all value you have placed upon its meager offerings and senseless gifts, and let the gift of God replace them all.

Call to your Father, certain that His Voice will answer. He Himself has promised this. And He Himself will place a spark of truth within your mind wherever you give up a false belief, a dark illusion of your own reality and what love means. He will shine through your idle thoughts today, and help you understand the truth of love. In loving gentleness He will abide with you, as you allow His Voice to teach love’s meaning to your clean and open mind. And He will bless the lesson with His Love. When we allow the Holy Spirit to help us forgive, we are letting Him teach us Love’s true meaning. Unforgiveness is a barrier to Love. As we learn to let go of perceptions of separation, perceptions of a gap between ourselves and our brothers, we clear away barriers to the awareness of Love’s presence.

Though Love is all around us and in us, our mistaken perceptions make us unaware of It. The practice of taking all disturbances to our peace of mind to the Holy Spirit with willingness to let Him show us the truth behind the misperceptions is how to allow His Voice to teach us Love’s meaning. This is our practice today.

Accepting the Thoughts of God

The Thoughts of God are far beyond all change, and shine forever. They await not birth. They wait for welcome and remembering.

Beyond all idols is the Thought God holds of you. Completely unaffected by the turmoil and the terror of the world, the dreams of birth and death that here are dreamed, the myriad of forms that fear can take; quite undisturbed, the Thought God holds of you remains exactly as it always was. Surrounded by a stillness so complete no sound of battle comes remotely near, it rests in certainty and perfect peace. Here is your one reality kept safe, completely unaware of all the world that worships idols, and that knows not God. In perfect sureness of its changelessness and of its rest in its eternal home, the Thought God holds of you has never left the Mind of its Creator… (A Course in Miracles, T-30.III.8:1-3;10:1-5. As we accept the Thoughts of God, we are brought to an inner place of peace… We know that we are perfectly safe and that all is well… We see the truth in all our brothers, who mirror back the truth to us…

The Thoughts we think with God bring us to the Light of oneness… In this sacred place, we are not attracted to believe in false ideas… We are undisturbed by the turmoil of the world… We are filled with gratitude that only the Thoughts of God are true…

We Are God’s Peace, Love and Joy

The power of decision is our own. And we accept of Him that which we are, and humbly recognize the Son of God. To recognize God’s Son implies as well that all self-concepts have been laid aside, and recognized as false. Their arrogance has been perceived. And in humility the radiance of God’s Son, his gentleness, his perfect sinlessness, his Father’s Love, his right to Heaven and release from hell, are joyously accepted as our own.

In patience wait for Him throughout the day…. God’s Voice will answer, for He speaks for you and for your Father. He will substitute the peace of God for all your frantic thoughts, the truth of God for self-deceptions, and God’s Son for your illusions of yourself. In truth we are one with God. We are the extension of God’s Love, peace and joy. This is our true Identity.

We let this truth of our true Identity fill our minds today… We let ourselves be carried by receiving the truth… We let ourselves be lifted up above the turmoil of the world… and receive Holy Spirit’s healing perspective as we go through our day today… We let ourselves remember we are God’s peace, Love and joy… And we gratefully extend God’s peace, Love and joy to every brother we see or even think of in this world.
