Accepting the Vision of Our True Self

It is important to remember that miracles and vision necessarily go together. ²This needs repeating, and frequent repeating. ³It is a central idea in your new thought system, and the perception that it produces. ⁴The miracle is always there. ⁵Its presence is not caused by your vision; its absence is not the result of your failure to see. ⁶It is only your awareness of miracles that is affected. ⁷You will see them in the light; you will not see them in the dark.

³You do not doubt that the body’s eyes can see. ⁴You do not doubt the images they show you are reality. ⁵Your faith lies in the darkness, not the light. ⁶How can this be reversed? ⁷For you it is impossible, but you are not alone in this.

…instruct yourself that you are not a body. ³Faith goes to what you want, and you instruct your mind accordingly. ⁴Your will remains your teacher, and your will has all the strength to do what it desires. ⁵You can escape the body if you choose. ⁶You can experience the strength in you.

³Remember that all sense of weakness is associated with the belief you are a body, a belief that is mistaken and deserves no faith.

To escape the body means to free ourselves from belief that we are limited to the body. This is why it is important that we remind ourselves that we are not a body. We remain unlimited Love as God created us.

The miracle is a moment in time in which we let our mind be free and at one with the Love of God. This is our natural state. We are not aware of this state only because of the faith we have invested in the ego thought system of separation. Because of this investment, we need help from outside of these beliefs.

Today we are accepting our true will to be Love and nothing else. Because this is our will, we have the Will of God supporting us as we practice letting our minds accept Christ’s vision. Vision lets us see the Light of Love that is everywhere, in everyone and everything. As we welcome this Light, we will see the miracle that is always there for us.

Letting Grievances Be Replaced by Love

You are entitled to miracles because of what you are. ²You will receive miracles because of what God is. ³And you will offer miracles because you are one with God. ⁴Again, how simple is salvation! ⁵It is merely a statement of your true Identity. ⁶It is this that we will celebrate today.

Today we will claim the miracles which are your right, since they belong to you. ²You have been promised full release from the world you made. ³You have been assured that the Kingdom of God is within you, and can never be lost.

…remind yourself that you are asking only for what is rightfully yours. ³Remind yourself also that miracles are never taken from one and given to another, and that in asking for your rights, you are upholding the rights of everyone. ⁴Miracles do not obey the laws of this world. ⁵They merely follow from the laws of God.

²Tell yourself often today:

³I am entitled to miracles.

²Be quick to tell yourself, should you be tempted:

We are entitled to miracles because we are entitled to the truth. Truth sets us free from the ego’s limitations. When we ask Holy Spirit for help to see with Christ’s vision, we are asking for a miracle. His function is to help us dispel the dream of separation. His vision shows us the truth that only Love is real.

We are entitled to this truth because we were created by Love as Love. With Christ’s vision, we see a world forgiven, shining in Love’s Light. We remember that we live in peace and share God’s joy. This is our inheritance. We claim it as we are willing to let our grievances be replaced by Love.

Our True Will Is to Be Love

Anger must come from judgment. Judgment is the weapon I would use against myself, to keep the miracle away from me.

Father, I want what goes against my will, and do not want what is my will to have. ²Straighten my mind, my Father. ³It is sick. ⁴But You have offered freedom, and I choose to claim Your gift today. ⁵And so I give all judgment to the One You gave to me to judge for me. ⁶He sees what I behold, and yet He knows the truth. ⁷He looks on pain, and yet He understands it is not real, and in His understanding it is healed. ⁸He gives the miracles my dreams would hide from my awareness. ⁹Let Him judge today. ¹⁰I do not know my will, but He is sure it is Your Own. ¹¹And He will speak for me, and call Your miracles to come to me.

Listen today. ²Be very still, and hear the gentle Voice for God assuring you that He has judged you as the Son He loves. (A Course in Miracles, W-347. See also ACIM Lesson 347 Insights.)

Judgment is necessary in a world of differences. This is why we have been given a Helper in our mind to judge on our behalf. He judges truly because He knows what is real and what is illusion. His judgments are simple. He judges against illusions and dismisses them as meaningless.

What He judges as real is only the Love that unites us with our Creator. As we learn to turn over all judgments to the Holy Spirit, He will teach us to dismiss meaningless illusions. With His help, we learn to recognize that only Love is real. Because Love is the truth of our Identity, we realize that our will is to be Love and nothing else.

Today we practice handing all our perceptions to the Holy Spirit to judge on our behalf. This is how we will learn that our will and God’s Will are one and the same.

Becoming a Mirror of God’s Love

Miracles mirror God’s eternal Love. To offer them is to remember Him, and through His memory to save the world.

What we forgive becomes a part of us, as we perceive ourselves. ²The Son of God incorporates all things within himself as You created him. ³Your memory depends on his forgiveness. ⁴What he is, is unaffected by his thoughts. ⁵But what he looks upon is their direct result. ⁶Therefore, my Father, I would turn to You. ⁷Only Your memory will set me free. ⁸And only my forgiveness teaches me to let Your memory return to me, and give it to the world in thankfulness.

And as we gather miracles from Him, we will indeed be grateful. ²For as we remember Him, His Son will be restored to us in the reality of Love. (A Course in Miracles, W-350. See also ACIM Lesson 350 Insights.)

Judgment stands as a barrier against Love. Forgiveness dispels the barrier and lets us join with reality in the oneness of Love. In this oneness we remember our true Self and know that we remain one with our Father.

Forgiveness is a gift that frees us to live in peace and happiness. We welcome the miracle forgiveness brings. Our hearts are filled with gratitude as we join in the eternal extension of Love that created us.

Forgiveness Welcomes Heaven

What is a miracle? ²A dream as well. ³But look at all the aspects of this dream and you will never question any more. ⁴Look at the kindly world you see extend before you as you walk in gentleness. ⁵Look at the helpers all along the way you travel, happy in the certainty of Heaven and the surety of peace. ⁶And look an instant, too, on what you left behind at last and finally passed by.

The miracle forgives; the ego damns. …⁵Who chooses hell when it is recognized? ⁶And who would not go on a little while when it is given him to understand the way is short and Heaven is his goal? (A Course in Miracles, C-2.7;10:1,5-6)

Every time we choose to judge or have an opinion, we are choosing hell. Judgment denies Love. Hell is the absence of Love.

In every instant, we can choose Heaven. When we forgive, this is what we have chosen. With forgiveness we recognize the many helpers we have to walk a path of joy and peace. When once we saw an adversary, he is recognized as a blessing because we saw the call for Love and answered with Love.

Forgiveness opens the door to Love’s blessing. The blessing is given and received. Today we choose the vision of Christ, which always shows us Love, because only Love is real. We choose Heaven.

Remembering We Are One in Love

It is sin’s unreality that makes forgiveness natural and wholly sane, a deep relief to those who offer it; a quiet blessing where it is received. ²It does not countenance illusions, but collects them lightly, with a little laugh, and gently lays them at the feet of truth. ³And there they disappear entirely.

Forgiveness is the only thing that stands for truth in the illusions of the world. ²It sees their nothingness, and looks straight through the thousand forms in which they may appear. ³It looks on lies, but it is not deceived.

The strength of pardon is its honesty, which is so uncorrupted that it sees illusions as illusions, not as truth. ²It is because of this that it becomes the undeceiver in the face of lies; the great restorer of the simple truth. ³By its ability to overlook what is not there, [forgiveness] opens up the way to truth, which has been blocked by dreams of guilt. ⁴Now are you free to follow in the way your true forgiveness opens up to you. ⁵For if one brother has received this gift of you, the door is open to yourself. We are not asked not to see a world of differences where images seem to conflict with some winning and others losing. But we are being taught to recognize they are not real and let them go. As we forgive these differences, the unity of Love replaces differences. Peace dispels conflict. And joy becomes a daily experience. We see our Self, the Son of God, in everyone. We remember we are still united with our Creator in His Love.

True Vision Brings Us Joy

Never forget the world the sightless “see” must be imagined, for what it really looks like is unknown to them. …³And so it is with you. ⁴You do not see.

How foolish is it to attempt to judge what could be seen instead. ²It is not necessary to imagine what the world must look like. ³It must be seen before you recognize it for what it is. ⁴You can be shown which doors are open, and you can see where safety lies; and which way leads to darkness, which to light. ⁵Judgment will always give you false directions, but vision shows you where to go. ⁶Why should you guess?

There is no need to learn through pain. ²And gentle lessons are acquired joyously, and are remembered gladly. ³What gives you happiness you want to learn and not forget. ⁴It is not this you would deny. ⁵Your question is whether the means by which this course is learned will bring to you the joy it promises. ⁶If you believed it would, the learning of it would be no problem. ⁷You are not a happy learner yet because you still remain uncertain that vision gives you more than judgment does, and you have learned that both you cannot have. Our judgments divide our world into myriad differences. We believe we must navigate our way through these differences to find our happiness and safety. The constant effort this requires is tiring.

But the vision of our true Self sees the oneness of God’s Love everywhere. This vision shows us the joy and peace in which we live. This vision comes as we let forgiveness dispel our judgments and open our minds to Love’s presence.
