Learning to See Through Illusions

Forgiveness is the only thing that stands for truth in the illusions of the world. It sees their nothingness, and looks straight through the thousand forms in which they may appear. It looks on lies, but it is not deceived.

Forgiveness should be practiced through the day, for there will still be many times when you forget its meaning and attack yourself. When this occurs, allow your mind to see through this illusion as you tell yourself:

Let me perceive forgiveness as it is. Would I accuse myself of doing this? I will not lay this chain upon myself.

In everything you do remember this:

No one is crucified alone, and yet no one can enter Heaven by himself. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 134, W-pI.134.7:1-3;17:1-7. See also ACIM Lesson 134 Insights.)

We cannot learn to forgive on our own. Believing we are on our own is the core of what needs to be forgiven or let go. In truth, we are one with all that is, one with all Love. But in the world we cannot see this, for the body’s eyes cannot see oneness.

This is why we need to practice being willing to see as Holy Spirit, our true Self, sees. This means we need to shift our attention from the appearances our body’s eyes show us to the inner vision of our true Self. This vision sees with Love and thus sees through form to the Light of Love.

Today is a day to practice our willingness to see with the eyes of Love and thus forgive the world.
