Let me remember love is happiness, and nothing else brings joy. And so I choose to entertain no substitutes for love.
Love is my heritage, and with it joy. These are the gifts my Father gave to me. I would accept all that is mine in truth.
Today I will accept God’s peace and joy, in glad exchange for all the substitutes that I have made for happiness and peace.

The Course tells us not to mistake the body for the Son of God. Thus identifying with the body as what we are is the denial of being the Son of God. When we deny being the Son of God, we deny Love, happiness and peace. It is no wonder the world we experience through the body is filled with fear, sadness and conflict.
Fortunately there is an antidote for what we experience as a body. The antidote is clearly stated in the review lessons that ask us to repeat many times a day for 20 days: “I am not a body. I am free. I am still as God created me.” (Review VI)
God created us as Love, an extension of His Love. As an extension, we remain part of His Love. Being part of His Love, we share all of His attributes. His joy and peace are ours eternally. If we experience anything else, we are simply denying our Self, the Son of God. This Self we share with all our brothers and remains united with our Creator. This connection can never be lost, although it can be forgotten.
To help us with our forgetfulness, God gave us His Voice eternally present in our mind. We need only be willing to choose this Voice instead of the ego’s to be reminded that we still have all of God’s Love, all His joy and peace. Today we choose to attend to the Voice for God.
