The Gifts Forgiveness Gives

No one in whom true forgiveness rests can suffer. He holds not the proof of sin before his brother’s eyes. And thus he must have overlooked it and removed it from his own. Forgiveness cannot be for one and not the other. Who forgives is healed. And in his healing lies the proof that he has truly pardoned, and retains no trace of condemnation that he still would hold against himself or any living thing.

Forgiveness is not real unless it brings a healing to your brother and yourself. You must attest his sins have no effect on you to demonstrate they are not real. …In their undoing lies the proof that they were merely errors. If anything disturbs our peace, there is a need for mind healing; there is a need for forgiveness. Judgment denies Love and is always upsetting, for it denies our Self. When we let the Holy Spirit help us forgive and accept His help fully, forgiveness is complete. The Holy Spirit’s vision will always show us the innocence beyond the appearances that seem to be cause for guilt. The Holy Spirit knows that appearances are not real. If we let Him, He will show us there unreality.

Anything we recognize as unreal we easily let go to disturb us no more. The appearance that once disturbed our peace is recognized as nothing and has no effect. We then become a demonstration of peace and innocence. And by this demonstration teach our brother of his innocence. Thus the gift of forgiveness is given to both the forgiver and the forgiven, for they are One.

Today we welcome Holy Spirit’s vision as our own.
