Letting Go of Guilt

I had been asking Holy Spirit to heal my mind during my night dreaming. On two consecutive mornings, I had dreams with my ex-husband. They showed me the guilt I had buried, carefully hidden in my mind. I noticed on waking how I could play a role in the dream and still be a detached observer, without judgment.

Spirit told me:

The ‘ego’ keeps you in chains; guilt is its mainstay and its cause. Yet you made it and the dream that you are guilty. This was done to support the first erroneous idea that you could leave your Creator. You are not a separate identity (ego) and you actually need no defense, no protection from outside attacks. You are mistaken and have made a choice to identify with a thought you made yet will/can never be “you.”

In this dream you got to see that you still love (extend love to) your brother and this will never change. It is not the special love that you both once searched for. Yet if you recognize that you do love your brother and this has not changed, you then can not be guilty as charged. When you realize (real-eyes) his innocence you then can know your own.

What you made in the waking dream never really happened and the former husband only played the role you assigned him. This scenario appeared in your mind by the belief that you were guilty of leaving God, and the ego’s function is to make certain that you remain chained in guilt. Giving up all false beliefs to Love (Holy Spirit) for correction, frees you of the insane ideas that you are guilty, condemned and merit eternal punishment. Give up the false ideas of separation and you accept the truth of your Creator and your Self. You did not make a separate self, you remain as God created you. There is nothing in you that is not of God.

Remember this day, that you never ceased loving your brother. Any story made by the little mind has not changed the eternal truth of Love. You did not “kill” your brother, you did not maim him in reality. The dream of guilt is over, for you love your brother, you are forever innocent as he. Remember this only and not the shadows in a dream made in madness and fear.
Epilogue

I experienced such a sense of calm and peace when I woke, allowing this understanding to take deep root. However gruesome the appearance in the dream, it never really happened the way I thought it did. It was fabricated from a sick mind, it was a call for help from me to Spirit. And Love always answers, no matter how I may resist. I am grateful for Love’s patience and answers.
