Listening to the Music of the Heavens

We’ve all been there: We get into ‘the zone’ and things flow easily; life is a breeze. But then it ends, and we get stuck and can’t seem to find the rope, the feeling, the connection that we can grab hold of which will pull us back into the stream of good energy. There are many distractions that we seem to feel attracted to and follow, all kinds of thoughts to hold on to and spin another story. At times there seem to be no good ones anywhere.

I’ve found that these distractions, these obstacles and familiar thoughts of ‘I should, I have to, I ought to,’ etc., seem to have a strong hold on me. What does work, however, is to remember that this Moment is the exact and best time to change my mind. I can choose a new thought right now, I can decide to follow the thought that I really want which is leading me to the right and chosen goal.

Yet, it is not always easy to ‘just choose.’ I have to remember and trust that there is a strength within me which is not the ego strength. I want to remember that I have that strength available to me when I connect with it. I want to open the door to allow it to be an experience and an energy that not only gives me strength, but also wisdom, guidance, knowing and joy. It will bring relief, happiness and really what I want. Truly.

This experience of being connected on a — let me say — higher level came to me while playing tennis. I learn so much while I am on the court because I can see the results of my thoughts so easily and quickly; the result is quite obvious. I either win or lose the point. During playing, I noticed how I had thoughts of … oh, I’m not so good, others seem to be so much better, they’ve had many tennis lessons and are more skilled, stronger and faster than me.

But then, I remember that I can choose joy and bring back the joy of playing, of just being out there on the courts, breathing in fresh air, feeling the sweat and the breeze, hearing the popping sound of the racquet and ball, and the fun of hitting the ball back and forth for several volleys. And so, somehow, I chose to feel joy and bring back my love for the game.

All of a sudden, I was winning more points, and I was able to follow the ball clearly, have a better overview of the court, was able to anticipate the ball coming, and felt so much more in ‘the zone.’ I realized that I had moved to another level of awareness. I was no longer in my small ego mind, in my little self, but I felt a strength within that gave me clarity. I was not above anyone else, but I was free and enjoyed myself. What it gave me was a point of connection. I could now recognize this feeling of freedom and enjoyment and bring it back as I thought of it, at a time when I fall back into the ‘little ol’ me’ mode.

This new level of awareness and point of connection is not just a little bit better than what I experienced before; it raises up my feelings to another level. This feeling is what we are always going after, whether it is hitting the ball just right, saying just the right thing to our friend or neighbor, completing a project or talking to our children and we feel we are on the same page. We want to allow the Divine Wisdom (big word) come through, but this Divine Wisdom is a feeling inside of us, a feeling of being in alignment, being connected, hitting the target, whatever the target is. And it is the Holy Self that has guided us to get to this feeling; the ego or our small self did not. So we don’t want to give our ego the credit. This change was not a coincidence, it was not just that we learned well, it was not that we are very talented or better than others, we just listened. And we were able to listen because we removed whatever obstacle was in the way.

So for me, I need to ask for help, then remember to listen, and when I really want to let go of whatever was in the way, that will be given me. I will know what I am trying to avoid looking at, what I don’t want to feel, and I will find the obstacle and allow the Holy Spirit to take it from me.

This morning I asked how to let go of constantly attacking myself with judgmental thoughts — I’ve done this all my life. I want it to stop. During meditation I was given an image of an ear. I thought — which was a question to the Spirit — what does that mean? And then I was given: Listen to the music of the Heavens. Wow. That made me feel good. Listening to the music of the Heavens brings me immediate feelings of joy and peace. Nothing bad or judgmental comes with that at all; it’s all so wonderfully affirming and uplifting. I love it.
And so I pass this on to whomever is asking similar questions: Listen to the music of the Heavens. It will fill you with all the feelings you’ve been looking for; it will relax you; it will communicate that all is truly well, and you are loved.

Whenever I choose to connect with the Divine within, and I send love or gratitude into that direction, I immediately feel love being returned. It seems like ‘they’ are waiting for me to open the door, and in floods the loving feeling. To me, it’s a feeling of being connected, a feeling of peace, good energy, happiness, and ‘all is well’.

Divine essence
Come into me
Enliven my will
To be clear and free
Remind me when I’m stuck
With nudges and feelings and thoughts.
I want your delightful nectar
Nourishing all that I Am
I bathe in your Light and revel
in your gentle power.
I am listening to the Music
of the Heavens.
I am so loved!
I am at Peace.
