The Real Life

“God is the Light in Which I See.” (ACIM W-44)

I am in the process of working through Pathways of Light ACIM Practitioner course 908: Abundance Awareness. Part of this course has us review Lesson 44. After revisiting this Lesson for many days now, I am experiencing more and more of what this lesson means. I had recently found myself going into deep levels of despair and depression, from what I consider to be a state of limbo.  My telecommuting job seems to be done in the illusion; however I have not heard from Holy Spirit that it is time to resign.  Since making the decision to sell my Colorado home and move to Florida, my job responsibilities have grown ten-fold. I find myself working many days 10-15 hours without a break. I have been feeling very overwhelmed and confused about all this.

Because of my dedication to embracing Lesson 44, I repeated it over and over again, while asking Holy Spirit to help me with a changed perception. Finally, after over a week of this devotion and dedication, the Light is starting to shine through. I am understanding that the Light is always shining for me to see, however, I block it with my fears. 

All my of my fears and desperation really stem from past and future concerns and trying to figure out what I think is best for me. These fears or conditions of how I think things should be block my awareness of Love’s presence. By continually asking Holy Spirit to take it all from me, I am lifted up.

I envision a tunnel that ends in magnificent bright Light… the edges are lit up… guiding me toward this bright Light. As I look back from inside this tunnel, I see the illusions of this world… dancing figures… shadows… faint images.

“As long as your life is just a stale repetition of what has gone before, its nature will be illusion, and all its activities meaningless. The past is over and gone; to hold it in memory and imagine that what has long since passed away is still here and now, to respond to it as if present, is to dance with shadows.” (From the Christ Mind Book II pg. 29)

Removing the fears and concerns that block the Light allows me to align with the present… in which all my needs are taken care of. I am assured everything will be alright… because it is alright in the moment. There is nothing to fear as I am embraced in the arms of Love. All these illusions I hold onto are meaningless… including my job. All those involved I see with the Eyes of Love, respecting that it may not be their time to awaken… that they still may see it all as valuable and meaningful. I need not judge them or any situation that comes up. I am here only to awaken and represent Him who sent me… content knowing He goes with me… and that I do not know my own best interests. I recognize that all that is happening needs to happen for me, and for my brothers and sisters… so we all open up to our full Reality.

“The mind will open ever so little, and the Light will shine in. Now the real life can begin.” (From the Christ Mind Book II pg. 29)

When I align with Light and Love, my blessings show up because I am available to the guidance that directs me to them. When I am happy and at peace, I am not blocking the fulfillment. It’s all about trust, staying in the moment, and asking for His Guidance… then miracles can manifest in my life, because it is His Will. By removing the blocks to awareness and staying in the present, I can be a puppet for Holy Spirit, an empty vessel that is guided by Love. His Guidance leads me to experience only more Light, Love and Joy. When my separate self takes responsibility and becomes the authority expecting certain outcomes, I lose my connection… and miss the blessings that are waiting for me.

I envision a maze that I am navigating. When I walk with Holy Spirit, I walk softly… gracefully… avoiding the walls… the path is straight. I am at peace… trusting… perfectly guided.

Once I return to the Holy Instant, and ask Holy Spirit to release it all from me, I return to Love… and am gently led back onto the path that leads me to the Light.

While I am in constant communion with my Source, I am in a state of humility. There is no arrogance that “I” know the way. Therefore there is no fear. I am awake to the Love and Light of my True Self navigating me. This is the happy dream… the REAL Life. The Light has come…
