Recognizing When God Speaks

I was so happy and excited about finishing my coursework with Pathways of Light. I keep praying to God to use me as an instrument of his peace.

My ego began to try to weave it’s way into my mind. Feelings of doubt began to seep into my consciousness. What shall I say to people? How do I get my work going? Will anyone want to accept my help? I tried to put these thoughts out of my mind. I got a message to practice patience; Holy Spirit knows when the time is right.

WNYHOO — NOW!  “The Paper Cut”

This past spring I began experiencing some trepidation about the idea of having a split mind. Would that be like having two heads? As this thought embedded itself more deeply, fear began to rear its ugly head. I knew this was the “cubicle self mind,” this is the ego in WNYHOO, up to its old shenanigans.

I saw the cubicle self mind as a cube cast out of Heaven and floundering in a void completely disconnected from Inspiration (Holy Spirit). It had no control over its apparent situation. There it was, an alien cubicle creature ousted out of creation, exiled in the Land of Inspiration II, the cubicle sequel of Heaven, the Land of Inspiration.

Angel Kathy Loved People

  Dear Loved Ones, Rev. Kathy Claire Martin Thompson’s memorial service, was held on Saturday, July 24th, under the trees in the backyard at Bumpity Road. Over a hundred people arrived to attend and were invited to speak. The memorial service was summed up accurately by the one sentence statement of Tayanne: ”I stepped into LOVE and the whole world was family.”

I Think the Holy Spirit Is Trying to Tell Me Something

Listen to Me. You fool yourself when you listen to the purposes of the world, for you tell yourself that things are important when they are not. Do what you must do within the world, but let Me guide you in determining what must be done.

Thoughts with Power

  Today, in my workbook practice of A Course in Miracles, Lesson 281 resonated to the core of my being with an astounding feeling of truth. Lesson 281 states “I can be hurt by nothing but my thoughts.” As the sentence finished, the whirling sense of truth began to fill my mind. The Course teaches us that we have never left our home in God. We just think we have and our thought of this has created the dream we see with our eyes. Each time I believe that someone, something, some event or some issue is causing me pain, I am not thinking about the truth of my Self; I have never left my home in God.

The One About Peace

  After spending a day in seclusion at my family’s farm cabin, an hour driving and a short ferryboat ride away from Seattle, I realized what I was looking for — Peace! What a fabulous word! It even sounds attractive. Why do I always end up thinking peace has either been withheld, or denied to me? Or, that for some strange reason, I just have to suffer a little while longer and then I can enjoy peace. As I sat out on the porch surveying the acres and acres of ready to cut alfalfa, watching several deer wandering through the pasture, I experienced one of those rare (for me) moments when my mind was just quiet.

Comparisons

A Path of Depression

  I went to visit my 93 year old father who is in a rehab/nursing home in Denver. For 92 years, he was fine, but the last year has seen a decline in his health to the point that there is nothing more that can be done to make him well.
