Remembering Who We Are

We are creation; we the Sons of God. We seem to be discrete, and unaware of our eternal unity with Him. Yet back of all our doubts, past all our fears, there still is certainty. For Love remains with all Its Thoughts, Its sureness being theirs. God’s memory is in our holy minds, which know their oneness and their unity with their Creator. Let our function be only to let this memory return, only to let God’s Will be done on earth, only to be restored to sanity, and to be but as God created us. (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.11.4)

In this world we all feel unworthy and lacking Love. We seem to be on a constant quest for appreciation, attention, respect and value. These are all substitutes for God’s Love, which we have denied by choosing to believe we are separate from God. We will never find the love we believe we need in the world.

The Love we need is already ours. Our only need is to accept the Love that is already given us by our Creator. Because the nature of Love is to extend Itself, we learn that we have all the Love we need by extending It. To do this we need to let go of, or forgive, the beliefs that deny or limit the flow of Love. For this we need the Holy Spirit’s help.

First we must recognize our unloving thoughts, our perceptions of guilt and fear, our judgments. Then we need to bring these to the Holy Spirit and ask for His help to recognize what is true and what is false. With Holy Spirit’s help we can see the Love beyond the barriers to Love. With His help we will recognize that the barriers have no substance and we can freely lay them aside.

As we lay the barriers aside, Love flows freely through us and embraces our brothers. The memory of Love, our Creator returns. We remember Who we are. We remember we are Love’s extension, the Son of God.

Extending Holy Spirit’s Purpose

As peace extends from deep inside yourself to embrace all the Sonship and give it rest, [peace] will encounter many obstacles. Some [obstacles] you will try to impose. Others will seem to arise from elsewhere; from your brothers, and from various aspects of the world outside. Yet peace will gently cover [these obstacles], extending past completely unencumbered. The extension of the Holy Spirit’s purpose from your relationship to others, to bring them gently in, is the way in which He will bring means and goal in line. The peace He lay, deep within you and your brother, will quietly extend to every aspect of your life, surrounding you and your brother with glowing happiness and the calm awareness of complete protection. And you will carry its message of love and safety and freedom to everyone who draws nigh unto your temple, where healing waits for him. (A Course in Miracles, T-19.IV.1:1-7. Today we let peace quietly extend to every aspect of our lives… We pay attention to our level of peace and let Holy Spirit’s plan of awakening extend through us…

As we practice this, our misperceptions of the past are healed. Our old habits of interpreting what anything means on our own are released. We gladly receive our lessons in Love as we open to Holy Spirit’s gift of true perception. We allow our minds to be healed as we let peace extend through us.

We are so grateful that we have Holy Spirit’s help with us all through the day. We continue to monitor our level of peace and return to peace when we recognize that we are closing it off. We choose peace again and again and again throughout the day, knowing that Holy Spirit’s gift of true perception comes with this choice. This is how we extend Holy Spirit’s purpose.

The Basis for True Forgiveness

Love created me like itself. I am in the likeness of my Creator. I cannot suffer, I cannot experience loss and I cannot die. I am not a body. I would recognize my reality today. I will worship no idols, nor raise my own self-concept to replace my Self. I am in the likeness of my Creator. Love created me like itself.” (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.84.1. The key to release from fear and guilt is to remember we are not a body. Only the body can seem to suffer, experience loss and die. As we accept that we remain as Love created us and are not a body, we free ourselves to receive Love’s gift of perfect happiness. The basis for true forgiveness is remembering we are not a body and that Love created us like Itself.

Holy Spirit, help me to see beyond the appearances of the world today. Help me to see the Love that is everywhere to be seen. With Your help I will join with the Love that is everywhere and extend that Love without reservation, for I would learn that Love created me like Itself.

Letting Our Light Shine

I am the light of the world.

Who is the light of the world except God’s Son? This, then, is merely a statement of the truth about yourself.

You will want to think about this idea as often as possible today. It is the perfect answer to all illusions, and therefore to all temptation. It brings all the images you have made about yourself to the truth, and helps you depart in peace, unburdened and certain of your purpose.

Fear comes with believing that we are separate and alone. When we believe we are separate, we are unaware that we remain one with our Source and therefore believe we do not share the Light of our Source. Thus believing we are separate results in believing we are in darkness. But this is a lie, a self-deception.

Reminding ourselves that we are the Light of the world is a way to neutralize the self-deception. It is an answer to the temptation to believe the illusion that we are on our own, disconnected from the Source of Light. The ego cannot believe that we are the Light of the world because the ego is the belief in darkness, in being disconnected from Light. So as we affirm that we are the Light of the world, we are reminding ourselves that God’s Light and Love and strength are ours.

Today we choose to remember that we are the Light of the world. We carry this Light with us wherever we go and in all our thoughts. Because this Light is always with us, we can never be in the dark. The Light we are lights our way and dispels all illusions. Remembering that we are the Light of the world brings us back to accepting that we remain in Heaven, where we were created to be.

We Walk to God Today

I will step back and let Him lead the way, For I would walk along the road to Him.

We walk to God. Pause and reflect on this. Could any way be holier, or more deserving of your effort, of your love and of your full intent? What way could give you more than everything, or offer less and still content the holy Son of God? We walk to God.

Your feet are safely set upon the road that leads the world to God. Look not to ways that seem to lead you elsewhere. Dreams are not a worthy guide for you who are God’s Son. Forget not He has placed His Hand in yours, and given you your brothers in His trust that you are worthy of His trust in you. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.155.14:3;12:1-5:1-4. We open our minds to Holy Spirit’s inspiration today… We still our minds and listen… We give Holy Spirit the time to help us see past illusions to the truth… With Holy Spirit’s help, we see all forms of lack of Love without judgment and recognize them as calls for Love instead of condemnation. We walk to God today.

We Remain at Home in the Heart of Love

We dedicate today to paying attention to the vision of our true Self. Our true Self will show us the truth beyond the images of the world. Being Love, our true Self will show us the Love that is everywhere and It will recognize calls for Love for what they are.

This practice will shift our allegiance from the false ego image of a limited self to our true Self, which shares all the attributes of God. By paying attention to the vision of our true Self, we learn the truth about What we are. The false images of separation gently fade away.

What we see with our true Self’s vision is peaceful and joyous. We see a forgiven world for we have let go of the mistaken ideas of what we are. We remember that we are safe, we are Love and we remain at Home in the Heart of Love, Which created us.

We Let God’s Gifts Be Extended Through Us

God’s peace and joy are yours. Today we will accept them, knowing they belong to us. And we will try to understand these gifts increase as we receive them.

Accept God’s peace and joy, and you will learn a different way of looking at a gift. God’s gifts will never lessen when they are given away. They but increase thereby.

True giving is creation. It extends the limitless to the unlimited, eternity to timelessness, and love unto itself. …It adds by letting what cannot contain itself fulfill its aim of giving everything it has away, securing it forever for itself. Today we are vigilant to accept God’s peace and joy… We open our minds to receive the healing perceptions that come with these gifts… We notice that ego thoughts and fears disappear and are replaced with God’s Thoughts of Love, gentleness and kindness… We are vigilant to let God’s Thoughts be extended through us… As we extend God’s gifts, they are returned to us… Our mind is healed as we extend God’s healing Thoughts to the world… We re filled with gratitude.
