Letting Christ’s Vision Show Us Innocence

Where could your peace arise but from forgiveness? The Christ in you looks only on the truth, and sees no condemnation that could need forgiveness. He is at peace because He sees no sin. Identify with Him, and what has He that you have not? He is your eyes, your ears, your hands, your feet. How gentle are the sights He sees, the sounds He hears. How beautiful His hand that holds His brother’s, and how lovingly He walks beside him, showing him what can be seen and heard, and where he will see nothing and there is no sound to hear. If we want to be at peace, we need to see the world through our inner vision, the vision of Christ. This vision is available to us through forgiveness, because Christ, our true Self, looks only on innocence. The body and all its senses can never show us justification for forgiveness, because it can only show images of separation.

We need to redirect our attention to the inner vision that overlooks the world of separate forms. This inner vision shows the unity of Love that joins us all as one in Love. In this unity, harm is impossible. There can be no judgment, no condemnation. The unity of Love will always show us Love reflected back to us.

Today our practice is to bring our perceptions in the world to the inner vision of Christ with willingness to see the Love that is eternally present. With that vision, forgiveness is automatic, for there is no condemnation. As our willingness to accept this vision grows, we experience deepening peace. And we give thanks.

Seeing Past Guilt to Innocence

It is as certain you will fear what you attack as it is sure that you will love what you perceive as sinless. He walks in peace who travels sinlessly along the way love shows him. For love walks with him there, protecting him from fear. And he will see only the sinless, who can not attack.

Walk you in glory, with your head held high, and fear no evil. The innocent are safe because they share their innocence. Nothing they see is harmful, for their awareness of the truth releases everything from the illusion of harmfulness. And what seemed harmful now stands shining in their innocence, released from sin and fear and happily returned to love. They share the strength of love because they looked on innocence. Do I want to see myself as weak and vulnerable, in constant danger? Or do I want to be certain of my safety, living in peace and knowing that I am eternally loved? I say “yes” to the first question when I choose to align with the ego. I say “yes” to the second question when I choose the Holy Spirit, my true Self, as my Guide.

When I identify with a body as what I am and believe what the body’s eyes show me, I am choosing the ego. But in every moment I can change my allegiance. It seems difficult to change because of the well established habit of choosing the ego. But habits can be broken and new habits established. It only takes willingness and persistent practice.

We need to choose the Holy Spirit’s rehab program. Holy Spirit’s rehab program gives us all His strength, all His Love. We need only check ourselves in to His program with our willingness. We can’t do it alone. One day at a time, as we dedicate our willingness to stick with the Holy Spirit’s program, we get the reinforcement we need to kick the addiction to the ego’s thought system.

The Holy Spirit is always present with His strength and Love, ready to support us when we are tempted to revert to our old thinking with the ego. We just need to practice accepting His help by letting Him guide us moment by moment. This is our choice today.
