We Walk to God

Step back in faith and let truth lead the way. You know not where you go. But One Who knows goes with you. Let Him lead you with the rest.

We walk to God. Pause and reflect on this. Could any way be holier, or more deserving of your effort, of your love and of your full intent? What way could give you more than everything, or offer less and still content the holy Son of God? We walk to God. The truth that walks before us now is one with Him, and leads us to where He has always been. What way but this could be a path that you would choose instead? (A Course in Miracles W-pI.155.10:3-6;12)

We walk to God in each now moment as we step back and let Holy Spirit lead the way. We hand over our images of separation; we hand over our images of being separate bodies with differences and conflict. We hand over these foolish thoughts to let our true Self take over… We no longer try to control our dreams… We willingly hand the reins over to the Holy Spirit, Who truly knows the way to eternal happiness.

The ego’s goal is to avoid God at the cost of Truth. Today we let go of the ego’s goal and choose the goal of Truth instead. As we let go and let Truth be our Guide, we let It lighten the path ahead that leads us Home to God.

Love Created Us Like Itself

Today our prayer is to remember that we remain as we were created by God; we remain the pure Spirit of Love, along with every brother. As the pure Spirit of Love, our happiness comes from giving and sharing all the Love we are with the whole Sonship. Sharing Love’s oneness is our only function today.

Your Will Be Done in Us

Father, we do not know the way to You. But we have called, and You have answered us. We will not interfere. Salvation’s ways are not our own, for they belong to You. And it is unto You we look for them. Our hands are open to receive Your gifts. We have no thoughts we think apart from You, and cherish no beliefs of what we are, or Who created us. Yours is the way that we would find and follow. And we ask but that Your Will, which is our own as well, be done in us and in the world, that it become a part of Heaven now. Amen. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.189.10)

The ego is a control freak — so much so that it made up a world to keep God out. It is no wonder that the ego incessantly directs us to plan for our future and defends against myriad potential threats. Loss of control is its greatest fear. If we identify with the ego, it’s no wonder that accepting God’s will seems like a sacrifice. Yet in order to be in control, the ego has sacrificed everything — all of God’s Love — to make its private little world made up of empty fantasies.

This world will never satisfy the Son of God, our true Self. The time has come to let go of this false image of ourselves and open our hands to receive the gifts of God already given us. The time has come to accept our true will, which is the same as God’s. As we accept His gifts, we remember that we are in Heaven now.

Identify with Love, Your Safety

You will identify with what you think will make you safe. Whatever it may be, you will believe that it is one with you. Your safety lies in truth, and not in lies. Love is your safety. Fear does not exist. Identify with love, and you are safe. Identify with love, and you are home. Identify with love, and find your Self. (A Course in Miracles W-pII.5.5)

Today it is our opportunity to identify with the Love we are. The Love we are shares all Love with all equally. What a happy experience we will have today as we share all the Love we are with all… Love, to be Itself, shares all Its Love… What a happy day we have today, sharing our function of extending Love… We are filled with joy and peace as we practice our one function today… We bless and are blessed all through the day…

As we see in everyone the opportunity to extend Love, all sense of threat disappears. Love and fear cannot coexist. When we join in Love, we remember our perfect safety in Love’s changelessness. Every encounter becomes a reminder of Love’s peace and joy. We identify with the Love we are by seeing the Love in every brother. It is the one Self we share, which is God’s one Son.

Accepting the Eternal in Everyone

The changelessness of Heaven is in you, so deep within that nothing in this world but passes by, unnoticed and unseen. The still infinity of endless peace surrounds you gently in its soft embrace, so strong and quiet, tranquil in the might of its Creator, nothing can intrude upon the sacred Son of God within.

…Nothing is asked of you but to accept the changeless and eternal that abide in [your brother], for your Identity is there. The peace in you can but be found in him. And every thought of love you offer him but brings you nearer to your wakening to peace eternal and to endless joy. (A Course in Miracles T-29.V.2:3-4;3:3-5)

No matter what appearances may seem to be, every brother offers us an opportunity to awaken to our true Identity. All appearances are simply ego decoys intended to hide the truth of our unity in the Love of God. But we can learn to look past appearances. These lessons come from the Holy Spirit within, Who is our true Self. If we are willing, He will show us the truth behind the false images.

We can learn to see the Light of Love that shines eternally in every brother. And as we do, we see that the same Light of Love is in us. The gift we give we receive. This is our only meaningful function in the world of dreams. This is the only practice that will bring us true and lasting happiness. Today we welcome Holy Spirit’s happy lessons as we learn to see with joy the Light of Love in our brothers.

Accepting the Quiet Mind

The miracle comes quietly into the mind that stops an instant and is still. It reaches gently from that quiet time, and from the mind it healed in quiet then, to other minds to share its quietness. And they will join in doing nothing to prevent its radiant extension back into the Mind which caused all minds to be. Born out of sharing, there can be no pause in time to cause the miracle delay in hastening to all unquiet minds, and bringing them an instant’s stillness, when the memory of God returns to them. Their own remembering is quiet now, and what has come to take its place will not be wholly unremembered afterwards. (A Course in Miracles T-28.I.11)

It is when we allow our minds to quiet that the memory of God returns to us. Accepting the quiet mind is an invitation for healing that not only shines a healing Light on our fears, but extends to other minds.

Allowing our minds to quiet is like putting out a “welcome” mat to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit responds to this willingness to be open and helps us not take the stories in the dream of separation so seriously. He knows the perfect way to bridge us back to the truth that we are still as God created us.

As we accept the quiet mind, the Holy Spirit helps us see past our dreams to the eternal present. And in the eternal present, only God is there. Only the one Mind of Love is there to experience and we remember that God’s Will is our will. This is why in quietness, every problem is quietly resolved. We return to the truth that the past is gone and we are free of all illusions.

Letting Go of the Past Brings Blessing

When I have forgiven myself and remembered Who I am, I will bless everyone and everything I see. There will be no past, and therefore no enemies. And I will look with love on all that I failed to see before. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.52.2:5-7)

Do we want to feel God’s blessing? Do we want to feel His Love? Do we want to feel safety that cannot be threatened? All this is already given us in our creation as God’s Son.

All that keeps us from experiencing this is our belief that we are separate from God and each other. We are believing in an image that was made to hide ourselves from Who we really are. We release ourselves from this barrier by letting go of the past, by forgiving ourselves. The means to forgive is already in our minds, given us by God as the Bridge between our dream of separation and our reality in Him.

Today we will be vigilant to bring our images from the past to the Holy Spirit for Him to shine His light of Love on them so that we can see past them to the recognition that we are the one Self that joins us with all our brothers and our Creator.
