You may wonder how you can be at peace when, while you are in time, there is so much that must be done before the way to peace is open. Perhaps this seems impossible to you. But ask yourself if it is possible that God would have a plan for your salvation that does not work. Once you accept His plan as the one function that you would fulfill, there will be nothing else the Holy Spirit will not arrange for you without your effort. He will go before you making straight your path, and leaving in your way no stones to trip on, and no obstacles to bar your way. Nothing you need will be denied you. Not one seeming difficulty but will melt away before you reach it. You need take thought for nothing, careless of everything except the only purpose that you would fulfill. As that was given you, so will its fulfillment be. God’s guarantee will hold against all obstacles, for it rests on certainty and not contingency. It rests on you. The doubt and uncertainty we experience in the world comes from believing we are disconnected from the Source of certainty. Believing we are alone in a world of conflict leaves us feeling vulnerable and in need of defense.
This sense of weakness is dispelled when we accept God’s plan for our awakening. God’s plan leads us back to the remembrance of our eternal Home in which we are perfectly safe, perfectly loved and perfectly loving. To help us fulfill God’s plan, we have the Holy Spirit to guide us. His sole purpose is to teach us to recognize the false identity we have believed in.
When its falsity is recognized, we automatically withdraw our belief in it. Because of our decision to accept God’s plan for our release from the dream of separation, the Holy Spirit prepares the way for us. He guides us to the experiences that will help us let go of the mistaken beliefs that keep us imprisoned. We can be confident that the Holy Spirit prepares the way for us to return Home to the certainty of God’s changeless Love.
