There is not a moment in which God’s Voice ceases to call on my forgiveness to save me. There is not a moment in which His Voice fails to direct my thoughts, guide my actions and lead my feet. I am walking steadily on toward truth. There is nowhere else I can go, because God’s Voice is the only Voice and the only Guide that has been given to His Son. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.60.4:2-5)
It’s comforting to remember that Love’s Voice speaks to us throughout the day. We are never without all the guidance we need in every moment. If we don’t experience this guidance, it is simply because we have chosen not to listen to Love’s Voice.
Forgiveness is the way we choose to listen. Each time we are willing to bring an unforgiving thought — a fear, a sadness, a sense of uncertainty — to the Holy Spirit, we remove a muffler that has made His Voice seem hard to hear. The Course tells us that the Holy Spirit’s Voice is as loud as our willingness to listen.
Willingness to offer all unforgiving thoughts to the Holy Spirit is willingness to let our thoughts be directed and our feet led on the path to joy. Our practice today is to be mindful of all unforgiving thoughts and to offer them to the Holy Spirit with willingness to let them be corrected.
