Celebrating Christ’s Vision

To do nothing is to rest, and make a place within you where the activity of the body ceases to demand attention. Into this place the Holy Spirit comes, and there abides. He will remain when you forget, and the body’s activities return to occupy your conscious mind.

Yet there will always be this place of rest to which you can return. And you will be more aware of this quiet center of the storm than all its raging activity. This quiet center, in which you do nothing, will remain with you, giving you rest in the midst of every busy doing on which you are sent. For from this center will you be directed how to use the body sinlessly. It is this center, from which the body is absent, that will keep [keep the body sinless] in your awareness of it. (A Course in Miracles, T-18.VII.7:7-8:5. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)

When we pause to step back from the busyness of our daily activity and focus on the center of peace within, we open our minds the the Holy Spirit’s guidance to use the body sinlessly. We are not asked to deny that we have things to do in the world. But when we go to our quiet center, our use of the body is directed by Love’s oneness instead of the ego’s demand for separation and the guilt that comes with it. The body is used for Love’s unifying purpose.

Let’s use this season of celebrating Christ to welcome His vision by frequently going to the quiet inner place where we rest in the Love of our Creator.
