If my hands are full of trash (what is valueless) and someone offers me a treasure chest full of everything I could ever need, I have to put down the trash to receive the treasure. A Course in Miracles is helping me recognize the valueless that I mistakenly treasured so I can lay it down and accept the gift of all that is valuable that is eternally offered me.
Forgiveness, letting go of judgment, is the way I lay down the valueless. Accepting Holy Spirit’s judgment in place of mine is the way I accept the treasure chest. Today is another happy day of practice in turning over all my judgments to the Holy Spirit to make way for the treasure that is mine to accept.
Today my practice is to open my mind to Holy Spirit’s peace and guidance all through the day. This means stepping back from deciding anything on my own. This means paying attention to the thoughts that come up and looking at them with Holy Spirit. When I practice this, what is trash the Holy Spirit shines away. Keeping my mind open to the Holy Spirit’s perspective is what helps me stay in a place of peace and quiet inner joy. It is worth the practice.
