The world is an illusion. Those who choose to come to it are seeking for a place where they can be illusions, and avoid their own reality. Yet when they find their own reality is even here, then they step back and let it lead the way. What other choice is really theirs to make? To let illusions walk ahead of truth is madness. But to let illusion sink behind the truth and let the truth stand forth as what it is, is merely sanity.
This is the simple choice we make today. The mad illusion will remain awhile in evidence, for those to look upon who chose to come, and have not yet rejoiced to find they were mistaken in their choice. They cannot learn directly from the truth, because they have denied that it is so. And so they need a Teacher [Holy Spirit] Who perceives their madness, but Who still can look beyond illusion to the simple truth in them.
Step back in faith and let truth lead the way. You know not where you go. But One Who knows goes with you. Let Him lead you with the rest.
I will step back and let Him lead the way,
For I would walk along the road to Him.

The key to living in a joyful, peaceful state of being is letting Truth be our guide in all things. To do this we need to monitor our thoughts and step back from the meaning we are giving the world. Of ourselves, we do not know what anything means. But when we step back and allow ourselves to remember the peace of God in us, we open our minds to our inner Teacher, Who is ever present to teach us the truth.
It helps to start the day with a dedication to following the lead of Truth, our inner Teacher, the Voice for God. During the day, whenever we think of it, we pause and step back for a moment from our doing and our thinking, to remember peace and welcome the lead of Truth. And at the day’s end, we give thanks for the Truth that has led us through the day. The more we practice this, the more consistent we will become at taking the hand of our inner Teacher and letting It guide us to the Truth. Our days will be increasingly peaceful and happy.
