The world is false perception. It is born of error, and it has not left its source. It will remain no longer than the thought that gave it birth is cherished. When the thought of separation has been changed to one of true forgiveness, will the world be seen in quite another light; and one which leads to truth, where all the world must disappear and all its errors vanish. Now its source has gone, and its effects are gone as well.
The world was made as an attack on God. It symbolizes fear. And what is fear except love’s absence? Thus the world was meant to be a place where God could enter not, and where His Son could be apart from Him.

This teaching is one of the most challenging for Course students to accept. The world is all we remember experiencing. The ego has cleverly made the source of its illusions unconscious, making the world seem to happen to us. It doesn’t seem possible that the world we perceive is projected from our own mind. This is the sleight of hand that makes the dream seem real. It’s helpful to realize that there is only one collective ego, based on the belief that separation is real. Separation makes the ego appear as many, housed in billions of bodies and trillions of separate, unique forms.
These projections are the ego’s cover to shield us from the truth that only the oneness of Love is real. We need help to forgive or let go of our belief in the illusions so we can see past this veil. We have been given the Teacher in our minds to help us bridge from the ego-made world to acceptance of the real world, which has let the veil of separation go. When our forgiveness of our belief in separation is complete, we see only Love’s oneness. Today we ask the Holy Spirit to purify our perceptions to help us awaken to our Home in the Heart of God’s Love.
