My grievances show me what is not there, and hide from me what I would see. …To see, I must lay grievances aside.
…everything I see will but reflect the light that shines in me and in itself. (W-pI.85.1:2,6;3:7)
By holding grievances, I am therefore excluding my only hope of salvation from my awareness. I would no longer defeat my own best interests in this insane way. I would accept God’s plan for salvation, and be happy. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 86, W-pI.86:3:4-6. See also ACIM Lesson 86 Insights.)
Love does not condemn and therefore holds no grievances. Thus grievances hide the Light of Love from our awareness. Grievances are the glue or cement that holds together the barriers that keep the Light of Love out of our awareness. Love and grievances cannot coexist.
Because we were created by Love as Love, our happiness comes with being Love, which includes extending Love. If we want to experience the joy of being Love, we must lay down all grievances, all judgments about the world we perceive.
The Light of Love is already in us. The Holy Spirit is the bridge in our minds Which will lead us back to the awareness of the Light within. The Holy Spirit does this for us when we are willing to take every grievance to Him to be undone. We cannot undo it alone, for the belief we are alone is a grievance against the oneness of Love.
As we are willing to let the Holy Spirit show us our beliefs in being separate are just a mistake and not real, we open our minds and hearts to welcome the oneness of Love and be happy. This is what every day is for.
