Daily Inspiration

Pause for Inspiration

As I observe how much I forget to practice the inspiration I receive in our morning sessions as I go through the day, I see that there is more resistance to awakening than I realize. The excuse I use is that I get busy doing the projects of the day. But if I am honest with myself, I could easily pause for a few seconds or a minute to refocus my attention on my practice without interfering with accomplishing the projects I need to get done during the day.

A Course in Miracles acknowledges this resistance. But it also cautions us not to use missed practices as an excuse to stop practicing all together. All I need to do is continue to practice again as soon as I remember. I see that this does work.

I have been practicing with ACIM for quite a few years. I do see that I do practice more, even though it is inconsistent. I also see that in my daily life experience I am more peaceful, loving and happy than I was before I started practicing. The practice is working!

I like the benefit and so I will not use the apparent failure to practice at times as an excuse to give up. Rather I am encouraged by the changed experience of life to continue every day to practice listening and applying the lessons from Spirit and A Course in Miracles in my daily life. I have great gratitude that I have the means to forgive the world and forgive myself and to return Home to Love.

As I go to that place of quiet, I hear the words, “Pause for inspiration throughout the day.” This is a gentle reminder, helping me see that I need to step back more frequently throughout the day.

I cannot hear the inspiration unless I pause to listen. The busy ego’s world, which attempts to demonstrate that separation is real, can fill up my mind, leaving no space for Holly Spirit if I let it. I am being reminded this morning to give more time to the Holy Spirit throughout the day. Pause for inspiration.

I am going to write little post-it notes and put them around the house to help me remember more frequently to open up to Holy Spirit’s healing perspective. Doing this lightens and brightens my day. I choose to have a happy day with Holy Spirit’s help in my mind. Thank you Holy Spirit. In gratitude I heal.
