Peace Through Forgiveness

God’s peace can never come where anger is, for anger must deny that peace exists. Who sees anger as justified in any way or any circumstance proclaims that peace is meaningless, and must believe that it cannot exist. …Therefore, forgiveness is the necessary condition for finding the peace of God.

Is conflict what you want, or is God’s peace the better choice? …A tranquil mind is not a little gift.” A Course in Miracles, (M-20.3:3-4,6;4:6,8)

A touch of frustration, a hint of disappointment and intense rage are all the same. They all occur because we perceive conflict. We want something to be different than what we perceive in order to be happy. Conflict and peace cannot coexist. To return to the peace of God, we need to forgive or let go of the perception of conflict. This is how we remember the peace of God and claim the gift that is already ours.

Our practice today is to bring any perception of conflict in which our peace seems to be disturbed to the Holy Spirit. He will offer His true perception, which will show us the reality of Love’s oneness and the unreality of conflict. With His gentle guidance, we will easily let go of the belief that conflict is possible. As we let go of belief in conflict, we welcome the peace of God. Today we would welcome God’s peace.
