When I have opinions about what anything in the world should look like, I am setting myself up for disappointment and disillusionment. I am depending on an appearance that is itself an illusion to make me happy or secure or “complete.” Thus, when the appearance does not meet my liking, I become disillusioned.
Judgment is not the path to happiness. It is a barrier to happiness. All my judgments and opinions are based on what I think I am. I could only judge if I believed that I am a separate identity, different from what I am judging. This can only be a self-deception. There is no “other,” for I remain Love as God created me and Love is one.
A sense of disappointment is a sure sign that I am deceiving myself about what I am. It is this that I need to take to the Holy Spirit and ask for His help to recognize the Self I am in truth. This is the answer to every perceived problem. No problem could be perceived unless I believe am not my Self.
My prayer today is to ask for help to see my Self truly, to see past the images of the world to the one Love That is all there is.
To help me remember the truth today, it is helpful that I ask Holy Spirit, “What am I and where am I in truth?” This can help jar my thinking and remind me to open up to the Source of Light and Love That is always waiting for my willingness to accept. Once invited in, the Holy Spirit reminds me again that I am still as God created me. I am Love’s Extension and my one function is to extend the Love That I am.
I am reminded of the quote at the beginning of the Text of A Course in Miracles: “Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God.” As I am willing to remember the truth, peace returns to my troubled mind. Once again, my most important function is to let the truth return to my awareness. Love is. God is. Nothing else is real. And I give thanks.
