A Course in Miracles, Workbook Lesson 101 tells us that God’s Will for us is perfect happiness. That must mean that if we are not happy, we are denying God’s Will. The dream that comes from the belief in separation is the denial of God’s Will. Curiously, most of us are afraid to accept God’s Will because we believe that we will have to give up something valuable, to sacrifice something. This is only because we believe that we can make or do something in the world that will make us happy.
Yet if we honestly look at our life experience, we have to admit that anything that made us happy with circumstances in the world never lasted. If it’s not eternal, it is not real. Thus seeking for happiness in the world is looking for it in the wrong place.
To experience perfect happiness we need to stop looking for it where it cannot be found. We need to let go of our belief that separation could really happen. As we let go of this belief, we let go of a world of separation that comes from this belief. Judgment maintains separation. Forgiveness is how we let go of the belief in separation.
The practice of bringing every judgment, every interpretation, to the Holy Spirit with willingness to accept His judgment in place of ours clears the way for the experience of perfect happiness. Clearly, the experience of perfect happiness is worth the vigilance to let Holy Spirit be in charge of all our thoughts and all our doing.
Today is another day of vigilance for God and His Kingdom. It is a day for further clearing the way to let perfect happiness be our experience.
