What Is a Happy Camper?

Robert:
What is a happy camper? A happy camper feels safe and loved and knows all his needs are met. Since I was created in the safety of God’s eternal Love and given all of God, how could I be anything but a happy camper?

Unhappiness comes only from the denial of what I have. This could also be called a grievance against God. I can return to being a perfectly happy camper simply by being willing to turn over all my grievances, no matter what they appear to be, or who or what they appear to be against, to the Holy Spirit. He will lovingly show me the truth beyond all grievances.

Today I would turn over all my disturbing thoughts, my grievances, to the Holy Spirit and willingly receive His correction. And I will be a happy camper indeed.

Mary:
The last three days we have been visiting with Mary Lenihan and John Hutkin in Sarasota, Florida. We had no specific plan in mind but to follow Holy Spirit’s plan for us. One evening, after dinner, we were walking along looking in the shops windows when I saw what looked like a bronze laughing Buddha. I look at that Buddha and it reminded me of the innate happiness that is inside of everyone.

As I looked at it, I had to laugh. I said to Mary, “That Buddha is just wonderful. I wonder how much it costs?” The store was closed so Robert looked up close and saw a price tag on a larger Buddha next to it. It was $599. That was way over our means. So we just enjoyed it and walked on.

The next morning I kept thinking about that laughing Buddha. I was drawn to go back and check the price to see if it was within our means. It was a very helpful symbol to remind me to laugh at the silliness of the dream of separation from God. I couldn’t help but smile, even when I just thought of that laughing Buddha.

We went back after dinner, and to our surprise, the Buddha was made of cement with a bronze finish, and was very well within our means. So we bought it, wrapped it up and will put it in a prominent place in our new location here in Florida. When you come to visit us in Florida, you will be greeted by the laughing Buddha, reminding you not to take this world too seriously.

Our visit with Mary and John was just incredible. We walked and talked on the beach, read A Course in Miracles, and laughed together. We talked about how important it is not to try to control anything, but to follow Holy Spirit’s lead in the moment from a place of peace. This the focus of Mary Lenihan’s new program, WNYHOO-NOW! (World Needs Your Help One-to-One—Now!) which helps us all remember to be guided moment by moment in how to be truly helpful.

Inspiration from the Holy Spirit flowed freely and abundantly through us all. And we thank John and Mary for our wonderful adventure with Holy Spirit together.
