Accepting the Holy Spirit’s Lead

This day is God’s. It is my gift to Him.

I will not lead my life alone today. ²I do not understand the world, and so to try to lead my life alone must be but foolishness. ³But there is One Who knows all that is best for me. ⁴And He is glad to make no choices for me but the ones that lead to God. ⁵I give this day to Him, for I would not delay my coming home, and it is He Who knows the way to God.

And so we give today to You. ²We come with wholly open minds. ³We do not ask for anything that we may think we want. ⁴Give us what You would have received by us. ⁵You know all our desires and our wants. ⁶And You will give us everything we need in helping us to find the way to You. The ego always wants to be in charge. It started with the request for special favor, which was a request that God change what He is to the ego’s liking. The ego continues to offer tempting wishes that God grant what favors specialness, but denies the Self we are as God’s Son.

In the dream of specialness, we do not understand the Reality of Love’s oneness. We need the help of the Holy Spirit to guide us to decide for the oneness of Love. Today we welcome the Holy Spirit’s lead in place of our individual wishes. We accept His lead which brings us back to the peace, joy and Love that is our birthright.
