Opening Our Minds to Accept God’s Gifts

²The peace of God is everything I want. ³The peace of God is my one goal; the aim of all my living here, the end I seek, my purpose and my function and my life, while I abide where I am not at home.

²I am entrusted with the gifts of God, because I am His Son. ³And I would give His gifts where He intended them to be.

⁴I am not a body. ⁵I am free. ⁶For I am still as God created me. (W-205.1:2-3;206.1:2-6)

Everyone in the world wants the peace of God. Somewhere deep inside, we know that peace is our natural state of mind. When we do not experience peace, we naturally seek to find it.

The ego’s plan to fulfill this wish is to direct our search where it cannot be found. It directs us to defend ourselves and attack others, even to the point of death. Its plans can never work because the ego denies the Source of peace.

The Holy Spirit’s plan guides us to forgive our self-made barriers to peace. It reminds us that we are not a body. As we let go of our mistaken identification with the body, we set ourselves free to accept God’s gifts of all of His peace, His joy and His Love.
