Resting in the Certainty of Love

I am at home. Fear is the stranger here.

Fear is a stranger to the ways of love. ²Identify with fear, and you will be a stranger to yourself. ³And thus you are unknown to you. ⁴What is your Self remains an alien to the part of you which thinks that it is real, but different from yourself. ⁵Who could be sane in such a circumstance? ⁶Who but a madman could believe he is what he is not, and judge against himself?

Today we offer thanks that Christ has come to search the world for what belongs to Him. ²His vision sees no strangers, but beholds His Own and joyously unites with them. ³They see Him as a stranger, for they do not recognize themselves. ⁴Yet as they give Him welcome, they remember. ⁵And He leads them gently home again, where they belong. (A Course in Miracles, W-160.1;9. See also ACIM Lesson 160 Insights.)

When we welcome Christ, we welcome our true Self. They are one and the same as God’s one Son. This Self is Love and nothing else.

Fear is a sure sign that we have identified with a false idea that denies the reality of Love. To the ego, fear is used as signal to raise our defenses to protect our frail identity. But the Holy Spirit can use it as a reminder to pause and return to the stillness within our hearts.

In stillness, Christ’s vision shows us the reality of Love. It looks past the illusions that seem to divide us from Love. It sees the Light of Love as the only reality. We rest in the certainty that we remain Love as our Father created us.
