We have recently been working with Pathways of Light course 918: The Power of Prayer and Meditation with a group on Saturday mornings. What stands out to me, as I have been working with this course, is that I need to watch my willingness to be with God. In the Song of Prayer, we are reminded that true prayer is a giving up of yourself to be at one with Love. “It is a song of thanksgiving for what you are. Herein lies the power of prayer. It asks nothing and receives everything.” (S-I.7:3-5)
As I go through my day, I am encouraged to practice this by taking frequent timeouts from the busyness of the world and asking myself, “Am I willing to be with God right now? Am I willing to accept my holiness, or am I thinking that I am weak, vulnerable and alone? Am I willing to accept God’s gifts to me? God has given me all Love, all peace, all joy. Am I willing to accept this right now?”
I’m being encouraged to accept my oneness with God and everyone’s oneness with God. I’m being encouraged to accept my true Identity as Love.
This course has been so helpful. The simplicity of accepting Love is so profound. Accepting Love and extending Love is my only function. I am being very gently reminded to give more time to this because it is all that is really important. I feel such gratitude that we are all safe in God and that nothing can happen to change God’s one Son. We all have it all and we are learning to accept that this is true.

When we are in an attitude of fear, our awareness of wholeness and safety is blocked. In addition, we see justification for our fear everywhere we look, because that is what we believe is real. That is why it is so important that we practice moment by moment, day in and day out, bringing all our fear thoughts to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not fooled by false images and has no fear.
So when we bring our thoughts of fear to Him and are willing to join with His vision, together we can see past the images and recognize they have no substance and thus do not justify fear. In every moment the Holy Spirit is present in our minds to teach us what is real and what is not. As we are willing to learn this, we are freed from the thought system of fear and guilt so we can remember the truth that we are eternally safe in Love.
