I have been reading Chapter 8, Section IX: Healing as Corrected Perception for the last couple of days. The above quote is what is currently jumping out at me this time around.
If wrong perception is the wish that things be different, then right perception is the acceptance of how things are.
What a revelation! Nothing needs to be fixed!
Not me! Not others! Not any circumstance or situation I or they seem to be in.
The dawning in my mind of this idea “I do not need to fix myself” is a true miracle. I have been trying to fix myself for as long as I can remember. Fix my body, my weight, my relationship, my career, anything and everything really.
So much time, energy, attention, and money spent on trying to fix myself. And I accept that. I forgive myself for my misperception. I give the consequences of that wrong decision to Holy Spirit. Because now I know different and make a different decision.
There is nothing to fix. I am a Child of God, Perfect as He is. The personality traits of my character are neutral. I can see them as wrong, broken, needing to be suppressed or denied. Or I can see them as part of my function. Part of my communication device that is reaching and extending and Being mySelf.
Jesus is using those parts of me to heal me and my brothers, together as One.
They are part of the perfect Garden that is only seen from above the chaos.
