New Website Ministry

by Rev. Julieanne Paige, O.M.C.

Rev. Julieanne PaigeSometimes guidance from Holy Spirit can seem like it is a little obscure or even irrelevant to us and the path that we are on. When we are on a spiritual path the mundane can often become something that we decide not to pay much attention to. However, if we are choosing to surrender and create space for Holy Spirit, we can find that in hindsight we were being guided to our perfect path Home… no matter how mundane or irrelevant it might feel at the time.

Open mindedness is a part of the spiritual journey but we can often find that, with a little examination, we still place conditions on our open mindedness. When we receive signs and symbols from Holy Spirit we can sometimes end up judging those signs and symbols as to whether they are really from Holy Spirit or from the ego. There is a gentle feeling that comes from Holy Spirit’s guidance. There is no rush and no anxiety.

Jesus makes a suggestion for creating space for guidance in A Course in Miracles. It is simply to ask the questions “What would you have me do? Where would you have me go? What would you have me say, and to whom?” (W-pI.71.9:3-5)

Over the recent months I have been asking this and receiving Guidance to continue my web design course. The questions that come with that Guidance are obvious. How can web design be relevant to my ministry? It was intriguing enough when I followed Guidance to start the web design course. There was such a feeling of knowing this was what I was meant to be doing, even though I had no idea what relevance it had to my ministry.

When I made the decision four years ago to leave my office job and follow Holy Spirit’s guidance I had no idea how working online would fit into my future. It seemed rather strange to me that I became very passionate about being online considering that it was a relatively short time ago that I found it difficult to even understand the process of copying and pasting.

I sat down at my PC for the first time since I left my day job and asked, “OK. What do I do now?” The answer was, “Share what you know.”

I have come to understand in ACIM terms that this is a simple process of teaching to learn.

I began by starting an online book club that has now grown into a very loving community. I continued to learn about being online, blogging, creating communities, networking, building websites and couldn’t understand why I felt so drawn to this. I trusted in Holy Spirit’s guidance without knowing that it would find a place in my ministry. I continued the Pathways of Light courses and was ordained last January.

It now seems that I am being guided to share what I have learned over the past four years through a new website ministry. Even this has sounded a little strange to me as it is quite a new idea for ministry.

Again I stand open to guidance as I begin to offer to work with Pathways of Light ministers that are interested in building their own websites. As irrelevant as I thought that working online was to my spiritual path, it is obvious that Holy Spirit had a plan for me. Right now we are in the process of building a website ministry which will allow ministers to have mentors and support in building, networking and using their site to its fullest capabilities. We will keep you posted as this ministry is beginning. In the meantime if it is something that you are thinking of doing as an extension of your ministry, or if you would like to be a part of this ministry, please feel free to contact me.
