October-December, 2004
Each vein in the petals
Reflecting life’s pathways
Starting on the main road
Zig zagging astray
Each stray pathway
Leading away from the Source
A cause for pain and hard learning
One by one, the petals,
Shaving shadings of life
From pink babe to ruby maturity
Drop away, acting as though
Beauty and depth are here to stay
Still beautiful, for a short time after the fall
Soon will come fading and withering
Dear Holy Spirit, thank you for
Showing me what needs to be done.
I asked for a sign of my dis-ease
I feel from the Source
No more wanting to please
Thank you for showing me
The pathways and choices are few
There is only one answer —
The answer is You.
I hear you whispering
“Stay tuned to your Source
Your troubles will be few
If to me, your commitment
You would renew.”
