The light of the world brings peace to every mind through my forgiveness. My forgiveness is the means by which the light of the world finds expression through me. My forgiveness is the means by which I become aware of the light of the world in me. My forgiveness is the means by which the world is healed, together with myself. Let me, then, forgive the world, that it may be healed along with me. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.82.1) Forgiveness is the path to peace. When we interpret our perception of the present based upon our past experience, we are judging based on the false belief in the idea that we are separate and alone. This is the core of all unforgiveness. The practice of resigning as our own interpreter and opening our minds to the Holy Spirit’s reinterpretation of all our perceptions frees us from the past. The Holy Spirit’s interpretation always brings peace with it, because It always sees every appearance as either Love or a call for Love. The Holy Spirit’s answer is always an extension of Love, which brings peace with it.
