If someone’s behavior disturbs me, it is a sure sign that I am focusing on a false image instead of the truth that only Love is there. That false image is a projection reflected back to me that is showing me what I believe about myself. I may say that I would never behave in that way, yet it is reflecting back to me my belief that I am separate from Love. The Course says that we always look within to what we believe we are first. We then look out and find witnesses that confirm that what we believe about ourselves is true. Images can indeed conflict with each other, but there is no conflict in the oneness of Love. Any disturbance then becomes a sign that a false image needs to be forgiven or let go. It is time to bring this mistaken image to the Holy Spirit in our minds to receive Its kind and gentle correction, which will always show us the Love that is ever present behind the false image we have used to hide it. As we let that Love be revealed to us, we learn that Love is what we are as well.
