“The ego has never given you a sensible answer to anything.” (T-8.II.2:4) This was a line in the reading for discussion at a recent Sunday ACIM Study Group Meeting, in the section titled, “The Difference between Imprisonment and Freedom.” When it was read, at first I smiled, then I heard myself laugh out loud! This was followed by a breakthrough: I saw exactly how VERY seriously I have always taken everything, and I mean everything — my responsibilities, my duties, the Course, doing-the-right-thing, decisions, life and its challenges, etc., etc. Then I saw very clearly all the anger and judgements that come with holding that position. In that holy instant, the truth in that sentence radiated very brightly.
