After 36 years as a history teacher and coach of several sports at the same high school, I am now in the final two months before my retirement from a long and rewarding career. Any major change in the “external world” is usually a source of anxiety for those of us still too attached to the ego-self and the illusion of who we think we are. I have loved being “Mr. Glenz” in the classroom and “Coach Glenz” on the field for so long I have come to believe that this is who I really am.
