Lesson 108 is titled, ‘To give and receive are one in truth.’ For many of us, service to our community is the way that Holy Spirit chooses for us to experience this. When I was a resident at a spiritual center in London and was asked to join the management team as marketing director, I thought it was because of my unique skill sets, which was true to an extent. What I discovered was that the management positions within the community were as, or even more, valuable to the people providing them (me in this case) as they were to the community being served. It taught me that one of the main purposes of a spiritual community is to provide opportunities for service to its members wherever possible.
