We Return to God Together

by Revs. Robert & Mary Stoelting

imageSeveral months ago we received a clear message from our inner Teacher to give time first thing each morning to opening to Spirit to receive guidance for the day and to place what we received on a Daily Inspiration Blog on the Pathways of Light web site. (You can now have this daily inspiration message emailed to you.)

Because we have a lot going on in our lives, on some days it seemed like there was not enough ‘time,’ but we did it anyway. Always, without fail, we were glad we did. Through this commitment, no matter what, to open to Holy Spirit first, we have been brought to a stronger awareness of what is truly important in our lives. We are learning to strengthen our trust in God’s laws rather than the laws of the world that seem to be outside our minds.

Soul Acceptance Is Being Truly Helpful

by Rev. Mary Gerard Lenihan

image Our purpose is to accept our soul. That’s it! My mind does a flip as I am driving to the grocery store. What once seemed the easier way — talking about my Higher Self, reading about my eternal Spirit, analyzing the ego and writing about our true Nature — now seems a lot more difficult than just being it… being who I am.

Overcoming Death with a Single Choice for Love

by Nouk Sanchez and Tomas Vieira

image  The ego thought system is geared to present us with a billion choices throughout our lives. Everyday it dishes out problems that appear to require solving or avoiding. A billion complex decisions all with one intent — to avert our awareness from the fact that at any ‘now’ moment there is always just a single choice calling to us, regardless of perceived complexity. That choice is Spirit… the choice to love and trust. Choosing Spirit first and foremost is the choice that excludes all fear-mongering by the ego.

From the One Who Knows

by Rev. Mary Manke

image This morning I woke to find another symptom in the body. The left knee would not straighten. In this dream circumstance, it means that the nerve impulses are not getting through to the muscles in that area. I shared with Holy Spirit that I was feeling frightened, confused, disappointed and guilty for choosing this.

Excerpts from Course 918: The Power of Prayer and Meditation

Pathways of Light

imageIn the Introduction to The Song of Prayer, Jesus describes true prayer as “The single voice Creator and creation share; the song the Son sings to the Father, Who returns the thanks it offers Him unto the Son.” (1:2) Here we are learning that all true prayer is sharing one voice with our Creator. True prayer is the Love the Father and Son share and extend as they recognize their oneness. True prayer is accepting our Father’s Love and extending that universal Love in one grateful, joyous voice. It is joining in one unified song of gratitude, appreciation and Love. It is sharing our Creator’s Love with the whole Sonship equally.

Complete Surrender?

by Rev. Myron Jones

imageAs I was journaling with the Holy Spirit I asked Him about goals. He suggested I write down my goals for today and then we would look together. I wrote that I needed to finish this project. Then I had a list of things that had to be done before my friends arrived. This list included things like getting dressed and cooking lunch. The longer my list became, the more stress I felt. This reminded me that my list was not complete. I added to it. “I want to step back and allow the Holy Spirit to guide the way. I want to remember my purpose.”

Concepts

by Rev. Phil Manke

image Concepts are formed of beliefs
and help the ego avoid reality.

Concepts of eternal, concepts of dead.
Concepts of mind and what’s in my head.

A Gift from the Sunday Service

by Rev. Larry Glenz

image  After attending the Sunday teleconference service with Robert, Mary and some of my Pathways brothers and sisters, I find myself motivated to write on the topic that we shared today. Our session this morning was focused around Lesson 100 from the ACIM Workbook, “My part is essential to God’s plan for salvation.” By reading and meditating together for an hour on Sunday, I seem to have my most inspiring messages coming from Holy Spirit. It seems appropriate that time zones and great distances are no obstacle to our Sunday services; especially considering that we have been taught that time and space are illusions anyway.

Playing Basketball with God

by Jack Hartog

image  In my 40s, basketball became my passion. I had competed a little in high school, just missing making varsity in my senior year (being beaten out, I am exceedingly proud to say, by a future successful NFL running back). While I still played better than the average bear, my middle-aged “game” (in quotes, to emphasize the objectively minimalist content of my skill level) left a lot to be desired.

Temptation to Madness

by Rev. Lee Catalano

image  Your point of greatest power is not when you are at peace, but when you are in the grips of temptation — the temptation to hatred, viciousness and anger. You are not guilty for these temptations, but you are empowered as you learn to no longer be deceived. “Anger is never justified.” ACIM22

The Gratitude I Earn

Susan Dugan

imageLately I have caught myself in the act of joining in long, self-indulgent, highly enjoyable conversations with other mothers on my daughter’s soccer team equally miffed about the antics of their likewise unappreciative, insensitive spawn. I have caught myself blaming associates for failing to recognize my talents and contributions, blaming those I live with for failing to thank me for the meals, the laundry, the rides, and the sympathy I so regularly and conditionally proffer.

The One About th Jaguar

by Rev. Stephan Mead

image“Dad, I’m not going to be in town for Fathers’ Day” my son informed me. It was a couple of days before June 19th.

I am part of a large family (3rd out of 9 children) and both my mom and dad passed away during the last 18 months. Father’s Day was always celebrated as an extended family affair. My brothers and sisters, spouses, our children, our children’s children, etc., would gather together for fun, fellowship, gratitude and feasting. Truly, the Walton family had nothing on us, except our jokes with each other would have never passed the TV censors.

Finding the Gift in Illness

Rev. Therese Anne Ward

imageIt happened that for about three months I had noticed that my bowel evacuation was gradually getting smaller and smaller, along with lots of gurgling in my belly. So off I went to the doctors to have my first colonoscopy. After the procedure the doctor met with me and my two daughters and explained that there was a tumor blocking the colon and it would have to be surgically removed and the colon re-sectioned and possibly a temporary colostomy while the re-sectioning healed.

A Lesson in Love

Joanne Kraenzie Schneider

imageMy husband and I have had a couple we went out with regularly for several years. We considered them our best friends. We had lots of commonalities including working out regularly and competing in athletic events, kids hitting college, mutual friends, and our spirituality. Over the years we had several discussions about our spirituality. I enjoyed these conversations.
