The Call of God

by Rev. Erin Lawson, O.M.C.

I was recently ordained as a Pathways of Light minister on the island of Kauai in the state of Hawaii. I was there to complete my “in-person training” with Rev. Petra Sundheim. I have spent the past two years doing the work of all four steps in the process, over the Internet, with Petra as my facilitator. The experience of sharing with her was so enjoyable and fulfilling the two years seemed to go by in a flash.

Soul Journeys

by Rev. Vallee Rose, O.M.C.

Prayers, miracles and God have always been a part of my life. The beauty of God’s creations and the serenity of God’s Love swelled in my spirit despite a society dismissing such serenity as easily as empty McDonald’s containers. We prayed for people’s health, their travels, their trials and tribulations though ignored the praises to our Creator for what health and happiness we experienced. God became a “Sugar Daddy”; “Give me this and that!” rather than seen for what Love is: Our Creator, the Guide of the Universe, the essence of our soul’s journeys.

Keep it Simple… Peace First

by Rev. Debbie Bolton, O.M.C.

Rev. Debbie BoltonI just celebrated a birthday, and many things drifted through my mind. It became a time to reflect, a time to realize all my blessings, a time to appreciate others, and a time to smile gently (even chuckle) at myself. In the course of reviewing my life, a large portion of the reflections were of my spiritual path — you know the one that is sometimes rocky, other times like gliding on cool sand on a hot day, and sometimes it even comes to a complete halt. Road block barricades big, red and white. Other times with many forks in the road. Which way to go?

Election Day November 2, 2004

by Rev. Therese Anne Ward, O.M.C.

Rev. Therese WardNationally we are focused on Bush vs Kerry for President of the United States of America. Then there are the states electing their congressmen and women, and local cities electing officials from mayors to commissioners to you name it.

The “race” my husband and I have been personally working with is on a county level. Our daughter-in-law, Jude Julie Reinhardt Ward is on the ballot for Cambell county Circuit Court Judge. There are also three men running for this position.

Pouring Rains Eventually Baptize

by Rev. Bob Thompson, O.M.C.

Rev. Bob ThompsonRecently I have had about 20 lengthy and intensive interactions, with a friend sharing my home, who has been going through multiple personal crises. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross frequently came to mind during these emotion-filled and thought-provoking episodes because of the grieving my friend was enmeshed in.

Highlighted Minister — Rev. Barbara Kraetsch

by Rev. Barbara Kraetsch, O.M.C.

Rev. Barbara KraetschI have been on a journey of learning to trust for almost my entire life. I first recognized a need within me to try to make the world a better place through purposeful work when I was a young girl. At that time the desire to help others took the form of wanting to be a lawyer when I grew up. I was helpful to the world in many ways when I became an adult, especially in raising children, but not through career. The girlhood dream to become a lawyer did not materialize until I graduated from law school at 42.

What Would Jesus Do?

by Rev. Myron Jones, O.M.C.

Rev. Myron JonesI have always been intrigued by the popular slogan, What would Jesus do? I’m sure you’ve seen it on t-shirts and jewelry, usually by the first letters of the question, WWJD. I think that is a good question. After all, Jesus intended his life to be an example for us; a model to follow in our own lives.

Step Back and Let Him Lead the Way

by Rev. Deb Frantz, O.M.C.

Rev. Deb FrantzI have been in one of those listening modes again as I ponder my own spiritual journey. This is reflected in Lesson 155 “I will step back and let Him lead the way,” It is an echo of what I want my spiritual journey to consist of and what I am working towards.

Above All Else I Want to See Differently

by Rev. Mary Stoelting

Rev. Mary StoeltingOne of the main goals of A Course in Miracles is to help me see the ego thought system clearly for what it is so that I will be willing to forgive, or let it go. It tells me that the ego thought system (belief in individuality) is not my friend and instead of giving me the freedom it promises, it only imprisons and hides reality from my awareness.

Eternal Purpose

by Rev. Erin Lawson, O.M.C.

In this world there seems to be endless choices we need to make each and every day. However, every choice in truth is a choice between what appears to be two options. They are illusion and Truth. The first option does not truly exist and the other option is eternally True. The unreal option is the belief that we exist in a world of form and perception and that we experience it through the presence of a body. This is no more than an illusion that we have been giving belief to in a mind split from the holy mind God created. The option of Truth is the knowing and experience of our eternal existence as one with God, the Source of all existence. Depending on which one we choose, we will believe it is the truth and experience the appropriate effects. The effect of the illusion is insanity; the effect of the Truth, being Truth, is infinite joy.

Seeing Wholeness from Wholeness

by Rev. Barbara Kraetsch, O.M.C.

Rev. Barbara KraetschRecently I have had the opportunity to sit in gatherings at Pathways and hear messages from two wonderfully gifted teachers, Gary Renard and David Hoffmeister. Both gentlemen have been blessed in their willingness to serve God with a great opening into the understanding of the One Mind, and the ability to communicate their wisdom to others in gentleness and true joy. They are both delightful and filled with Light. I learned so much from both listening to them and experiencing their level of God-mindfulness.

Handing My Judgments to God

by Rev. Martha Firnschild, O.M.C.

Exhausted. Tired. I need to just put a time limit on how much time I spend with her. I come away feeling so wiped out.

But the Course says I am making myself tired; that I am judging myself as being capable of being tired. Judged myself. Judged me. Compared me with her a million times while sitting there. At first I was able to handle each judgmental thought one at a time as they came up. I heard her say that she was feeling less than a coworker that seemed to have so much extra time and energy to give to her job being with the children. A mirror, I thought. That is exactly what I feel about her — she has so much more energy than me. What is wrong with me anyway.

Holy Spirit — Take the Lead

by Rev. Linda Wisniewski, O.M.C.

Rev. Linda WisniewskiMy daughter just celebrated her 30th birthday and her husband gave her a party which my husband and I attended, along with the in-laws, my ex-husband, his wife and my other daughter. It’s been a long time since I have been with the in-laws and the ex. In the past, everyone was tense and suffered silently, and sometimes not so silently, during these uncomfortable getogethers.

Highlighted Minister — Rev. Marshall Spall

Rev. Marshall Spall, O.M.C.

We recently received an inspiring and enthusiastic communication from Marshall Spall, a Pathways minister who lives in Saskatchewan, Canada. Below he honestly shares with us the importance of his learning to let go of his willfulness and accepting Holy Spirit’s miracles by not deciding what anything means on his own. We thank Marshall for this helpful message that is important to us all:
