I Am So Blessed, I Am So Loved -- by Rev. Mary Manke

When I have had a shift in attitude, those words are not so unbelievable. I am, at long last it seems, learning that it is not difficult to watch my thoughts, to be the observer and not to get instantly caught up when I hear the inner critic start it's litany or the wounded aspect's lament.

I know that others have been quicker to grasp and use the concepts from the Course than me, and I accept that my willingness was not there, or perhaps not as strong as it is now. Jesus tells me, that it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter because there is no past, it is just a silly idea in my mind.

In my experience I have mistaken the ego as the voice that "knows" beyond all question. I know now that this voice is false, and that it lies to me about everything! I still have times when I do not remember this, momentarily listening to an insane teacher, mistaking it's voice for real thoughts. I see that I am mistaken. Now I do not buy into more guilt for not being "perfect."

When I hear the inner critic, I now realize that I do not have to accept its critique about me or about anything. I hear the negative words and I choose not to listen to them, I choose to hear the truth. I replace the sad, judging words with words of compassion, gentleness, and humor. I ask that Holy Spirit help me return to truth, and I hear His voice, sometimes strongly, sometimes gently, always lovingly. I may not accept the truth instantly, but at least I know that I do not want the negativity of the ego.

Changes in my life experience have seemed to speed up since January. It was at some point at the end of 2001 that I did make a choice about an illusion that I was holding as valuable or important. When I finally turned it over and gave Holy Spirit the lead, then the miracles began manifesting.

The weight that I had been carrying was lifted, and I felt free. I simply chose to want my partner's happiness to have precedent. I was willing to drop all the false expectations that I had held around him. I was willing to just let him be, and wanted only his happiness for him. With this choice, Holy Spirit took over, and all my concerns were wiped away. I did cry with tears of joy and relief. Any little fears that surfaced, I would listen to and quietly take to Spirit for the correction and healing of my mind. I was immersed in gratitude, and can return to it the instant that I pause and remember the truth of Love.

I can only be as God created me. When I struggle to "be" something else, then I feel misery, pain, guilt and am unhappy and unfulfilled. I do not have to "struggle" at all, to be as Love created me. I do not have to struggle to see the love that my brother is.

Jesus gave me this explanation of my change of mind: "You do not really 'let go' of any person or relationship. What has happened is that you opened up. You opened to Love and looked with Love on your situation and your thoughts and projections. You 'see' differently because you look with Love and allow Love to show you the truth. You will never be 'out' of any relationship. You have allowed a shift in perception. You have allowed awareness of Truth to enter your mind. You let go of the thoughts that were hurting you -- limiting your capacity to love. Giving love and moving out of fear is the miracle that you opened to. Endless love comes in endless ways."

Peace Is My One Goal -- by Rev. Marcia Tribolini

As I faced what seemed to be another major transition in my life, it was very easy to become confused and filled with ego thoughts of fear, separation and loss. As I took these thoughts to Spirit many times, the following is one of the healing messages I received:

Through all the turmoil and all the strife, all the outer anxiety and pain, in quiet moments the truth reigns. When the mind stills, all is well. In this place, all confusion fades back into nothingness and the truth and beauty of your Inner Light shines through, reflecting the grace of God.

In this grace, all things are healed through Love and compassion. God will never hold His holy child guilty for any reason. God sees only pure Love and innocence. In His one creation, He sees only Truth.
Remember this always: No matter how insane the outer picture looks or becomes, the inner picture that God holds of His Son is his true Reality. This is the Reality that you must choose to look upon within yourself. This is the true Reality or picture of yourself that you must learn to hold in your mind at all times.

You are not and could never be less than perfect. And holding this truth about yourself will heal all misperceptions of pain. When misperceptions become healed, behavior changes.

Do not be harsh with yourself when this does not seem to happen instantly. As you fully embrace the reality of your perfection, your outer behavior will reflect this inner truth. In the dream, this may appear to take time. In truth, all healing is instantaneous.

All the burdens will lighten as you place them in my hands. Allow me to take these misperceptions from you so you may learn to walk in peace and happiness. You have no idea how light and wonderful the journey will be as you continue to allow your misperceptions of separation, loss and fear to be handed unto me. The road ahead is filled with Light.

This Light heals your false, separated self so your real Self can emerge and radiate this same Light. The journey to wholeness is the joining with the One Mind that remembers the truth of your One Self. As we join together in this healing journey, we raise the consciousness of all those whom we meet and walk with along the path.

We all go Home together. The circle of Love widens as we remember the truth of Who we are. Our only goal is to carry this truth for ourselves and our brothers.

Closing note: I am so grateful that I have this Inner Resource to go to for help with remembering the truth of Who I am. Thank you Holy Spirit!

Minding Your P's and Q's -- by Rev. Petra Sundheim

I AM is a creative manifesting declaration and is worthy of respect. "I am that I am" is a well known statement by Jesus in scripture. I AM is also used for prefacing affirmations. It is also a handy acronym for remembering our creative process. 'I' equals Intention, 'A' is for Attention and 'M' stands for Manifestation.

With this in mind I use as a memory aid a beginning letter for a series of affirmations on Being… qualities of our true Essence. This daily reminder is a vision statement that reminds me who I am and is part of my spiritual practice. I have chosen the letter P and selected nine qualities I Intend to Manifest through daily Attention.

I have chosen nine P's that are important to me. Others may be substituted or added.

I AM PRESENT… Living in the Now is the theme of a recent popular book, The Power of Now. The Present is the only time that is real in the realm of Spirit. It is called the Holy Instant in A Course in Miracles. The practice of mindfulness helps to keep me in the present, the only time there is.

I AM PEACEFUL… Inner peace is where world peace begins. The most important daily exercise is forgiveness and releasing. Asking our Spirit/ Heart Vision to see whatever upsets me differently brings a peaceful response. I let go of all judgment.

When I live my vision, and feel I am on purpose, I experience peace. In stillness I experience Peace. "Rest in Peace" is for the living, the awakening, not the deceased.

I AM PROSPEROUS… I think prosperous thoughts blessing everyone's well-being, blessing the good I see and giving thanks for the abundance of blessings I receive. I focus on the unlimited supply I have in identifying with my Source, my divine Essence.

I AM PASSIONATE… Without passion for my work, it goes nowhere. Valuing what I do helps provide the juice to follow through on a project. Passion ignites support for a cause and brings in the resources we need.

I AM POWERFUL… Believing "I am powerful beyond measure" when I am connected to my Source, my Divine, unlimited Being. I am not alone. I co-create for the highest good of all. When I come from Divine Love, I am in my power. ACIM states "All power is of God. What is not of God has no power to do anything." (Text p. 203)

I AM PERSISTENT… I keep on keeping on, when inner conviction directs me. I keep my focus. I trust and allow my Intention to unfold. I value the bench marks. I hold the Vision. ACIM reminds us many times to be vigilant, noting our thoughts and source, whether from fear or love. Vigilance is a form of persistence.

I AM PATIENT… I trust Spirit's timing. I wait for cues, redirection. I surrender my attachment to the outcome. I am patient with the details. I let go of control.

I AM PLAYFUL… I relax. I allow the creative to emerge without forcing or urgency. I look outside the box. I enjoy and join in laughter. I am playing a role on this stage called life. I can change the plot, change the character and try another role for another perspective. I release my seriousness and dance lightly to the music of the angels.

I AM PRAYERFUL… "Pray without ceasing," we are told. It is not a call for somberness. Rather it is a constant communication with our Inner Teacher, our inner Wisdom, the quiet Voice of Love when fear is shouting in the media and in the chaos of lives we intersect. It is listening in the Silence, to the Silence. It is Being a Peaceful Presence in the midst of storm. It is sending blessing to the passing ambulance. It is gratitude for the presence of angels. It is asking for the next step. It is paying attention.

Minding your P's…. and Q's.

Q's are THE QUESTIONS. Live the questions. In the business of coaching, we work with questions. With the client we come up with an inquiry to reflect on, play with in the coming week, such as, "What habits would serve that Intention?" "What am I willing to do to make that happen?" "How does my focus on Being change my doing?"

What questions are you living with? How can changing the questions change your focus, your energy, your attitude, your life? The practice of asking questions is a way of staying out of a rut. Why questions are often blaming questions and tend to be victim consciousness questions, e.g., "Why did they ___? Why is this happening to me… again? Why did you do that?" or "Who did it? Who said that? Who is to blame?" etc.

There are useful questions to savor as suggested in A Course in Miracles and other sources that help us shift our consciousness.

It is helpful in our endeavors to go within and ask fairly regularly, "What is this for? Is this really what I want to be doing the rest of my life? What does my heart dream of? What excites me? Turns on the juice? What is my purpose on the planet? How can I see this differently? What does my heart/ my guidance say about this? What is this relationship for? How can I let this be easy and effortless? What was the thought behind that feeling or my mood? Where did that come from? How can peace come from war? What better way can I support and bring into my life? How does this serve me? How can I be truly helpful? What really matters here? Is there another way of doing this? How is this person a mirror to me? What is my next step? How can I make a difference? Am I willing to let go of this attachment, grievance, hurt …? Can I allow Spirit to lead the way, take the controls? Can I let go being right and be happy?"

In ACIM we are told, only God's plan for our wholeness (salvation) will work. To learn of that plan for us we are to ask our Source/ Spirit: "What would You have me do? Where would You have me go? What would You have me say and to whom?" WB p. 122.

If I mindfully ask these questions on awakening, I may have my entire day's agenda changed. Yesterday I had a day of errands and shopping planned. A friend had organized a whale watching excursion for a group of women at a greatly reduced price and invited me. I felt a little guilty abandoning my agenda and went on a very delightful boat trip. We had the pleasure of a mother whale and her baby playfully circle the boat and flap their tail fins. They seemed to be performing for us. I connected with nature at its awesome best and related to old and new female friends with a meal sharing our gratitudes. I am renewed in ways I could not have planned.

The questions are only limited by your imagination. Don't get stuck in useless questions, e.g., "What if…" or "If only…" (not a question, but a lament).

Good questions will open the windows of your mind and your life. "What if" can be useful in a positive focus such as "What if I believed there is a spark of good in everyone" (as Peace Pilgrim did) and acted accordingly?"

Minding your P's and Q's is simply a tool for your imagination to work with to help you create the life you want.
