Accepting Holy Spirit’s Gentle, Forgiving Dream

You are the dreamer of the world of dreams. No other cause it has, nor ever will. Nothing more fearful than an idle dream has terrified God’s Son, and made him think that he has lost his innocence, denied his Father, and made war upon himself. …God willed he waken gently and with joy, and gave him means to waken without fear.

Accept the dream He gave instead of yours. It is not difficult to change a dream when once the dreamer has been recognized. Rest in the Holy Spirit, and allow His gentle dreams to take the place of those you dreamed in terror and in fear of death. (A Course in Miracles, T-27.VII.13:1-3,5;14:1-3)

Judgment is hazardous to our health. Judgment denies the Source of health — the Love and peace of God. Judgment proclaims our isolation and makes the world appear to be outside of us. And judgment maintains guilt in our mind, keeping us imprisoned in a self-made world of fear.

This need not be. If we are willing to let Holy Spirit take over the role of judge, He will clear from our minds all the mistaken perceptions that hold guilt in place. With His help, we will forgive ourselves and our brothers for the perceived errors that seemed to justify attack and defense. As we accept Holy Spirit’s help, dreams of judgment are replaced by gentle, forgiving dreams, which let the Love of God shine through. Forgiving dreams lift the veil that hides the Love we are from our awareness.

Our practice today is to let Holy Spirit judge all things on our behalf. His simple judgment will teach us what is true and what is false, so that we may easily lay down the false.
