Learning to Recognize Our True Identity

The world can give no gifts of any value to a mind that has received what God has given as its own. God wills salvation be received today, and that the intricacies of your dreams no longer hide their nothingness from you.

Open your eyes today and look upon a happy world of safety and of peace. Forgiveness is the means by which it comes to take the place of hell. In quietness it rises up to greet your open eyes, and fill your heart with deep tranquility as ancient truths, forever newly born, arise in your awareness. When we believe the body is our identity, loss of the body seems to be the end of our existence. Of course we would defend this identity at all costs, for we have given it the ultimate value. Yet the body is a false image and it does not really exist at all. To defend a lie and an image that does not exist is insane. Forgiveness is how we let go of this insanity.

We will not willingly give up the identity we believe is what we are until we learn to recognize the truth of What we are and accept It for ourselves. The Holy Spirit is ever present in our minds, always offering us the lessons that will teach us this important lesson. We welcome this lesson with the practice of asking the Holy Spirit’s help to reinterpret all our perceptions in the world.

As we change our focus from the ego as our guide to the Holy Spirit as our Guide, we learn to recognize what is true and freely overlook the false images. Once recognized for the nothingness they are, we no longer need to defend these false images. In their place we welcome God’s gift of Love and the peace and joy that come with It.
