Listening to God’s Voice

It is quite possible to listen to God’s Voice all through the day without interrupting your regular activities in any way. The part of your mind in which truth abides is in constant communication with God, whether you are aware of it or not. …The part that is listening to the Voice for God, is calm, always at rest and wholly certain. It is really the only part there is. The other part is a wild illusion, frantic and distraught, but without reality of any kind. Try today not to listen to it. Try to identify with the part of your mind where stillness and peace reign forever. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.49.2:1-2,2:1-5)

My practice for today is to pay attention to which part I am listening to — the Voice for God or the false mind of the ego. My practice today is to identify with the part of my mind where stillness and peace reign forever. To do this I must be willing to invite in and welcome in the peace and quiet of the Voice for God. I must be willing to accept the formless and gentle beingness of my true Nature. I must be willing to open to the Voice for God and let it guide and inspire me all through the day.

I am grateful to know that though I am not aware of God’s Voice speaking to me, God still speaks to me all through the day. I can make myself unaware of it, but I can’t shut It off. This is good news because, if I made the barrier that makes me unaware of His Voice, I can let go of the barrier.

Forgiveness, letting go of judgment, is the way I let go of the barrier. This is why the practice of bringing everything that disturbs my peace to the Holy Spirit with willingness to accept His help to let it go is the way I reconnect with God’s Voice. It is the way I reconnect with Love. Today I dedicate to being vigilant for peace and letting the Holy Spirit be my Inspiration and my Guide.
