Opening to Happiness

Holy Spirit to Robert:
The ego is a perpetual pessimist. Driven by the maxim “seek and do not find,” it has no hope of ever finding happiness. The ego does not tell you that it is the denial of happiness. Instead it makes up myriad forms and tries to convince you that if you obtain these forms you will be happy. Yet each time you obtain any of these forms, you find you are not satisfied. The ego says, “Not to worry. Here’s another form to try for.” It may even encourage guilt by suggesting that you should have known better than to try for that other form. Seek not the ego’s counsel for what would make you happy. It does not know and can only offer you empty substitutes.

There is a Place in you That holds the Flame of happiness eternally. Turn to It to let It light your way to the Home where happiness is eternal and Love is without end. You cannot put out this Flame because Its Source is God. It is your Self, your true Identity, which cannot be altered. This Self recognizes the truth in you and in all your brothers. Its Light shows you clearly that all that is real is One and can never be divided nor lost.

Turn to this Light in you and let It show you the Light that is in all. When you look into this Light, you recognize that It has no end. There is nothing outside this Light. This Light is you, united with your Source. Here is peace and strength. Here is certainty and safety. Here is the joyous, radiating extension of the Light of Love. Here is Heaven, your Home. Accept It and know that It is yours. In your acceptance, you remember peace.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
To be truly helpful you need to relax and step back from the ego’s thoughts about what is true in this world. You must be willing to let go of all you think you know and learned from the past. Be as a little child that is willing to listen and be told. Listen in quiet. Let your mind be purified of all the ego’s false ideas. Be willing to receive the peace that replaces the fearful thoughts of the ego. Be willing to rest in the truth today. This is how to be truly helpful.
