Rev. Theresa Tomilson, New Ross, NS

Theresa Tomilson, O.M.C. is a certified course facilitator, relationship enhancement counselor and ministerial counselor of Pathways of Light Spiritual College. She facilitates spiritually focused courses and programs through teleconferences or video-conference, and in person.

Throughout her professional life, Theresa has supported growth and healing for people; working one-on-one with clients as a holistic practitioner, in several supervisory roles, designing staff development programs, and presenting engaging workshops. Theresa has completed Beyond Trauma Facilitator training—a program developed by Dr. Stephanie S. Covington, who works extensively with women’s issues of addiction, trauma and recovery. For several years, Theresa facilitated programs for women involved with the criminal justice system through a court-work support agency and also presented workshops in a correctional facility. She considers her work in these settings to be as transformative for her, as for the participants. Theresa has worked with a diverse group of people from all walks of life, and she brings well-established interpersonal skills and intuitive qualities to her work as a spiritual counselor.

Theresa recently designed a six-week program Nurturing Ourselves, which encompasses elements from her training and work experience to date and focuses on helping participants cultivate deeper practices of self-care, self-worth and self-love. The Nurturing Ourselves Program is offered in one-on-one or small group sessions, online and in person. It is also offered periodically in modified format as a one-day workshop or weekend retreat.

As A Course In Miracles student/teacher for almost thirty years, Theresa fully embraces the ACIM philosophy that “we are all students and teachers of each other.” She honors individuals wherever they are in their healing process with respect for their personal level of understanding, receptivity and readiness, and with appreciation for their unique perspectives.

Described as being as down to earth as she is insightful and aware, Theresa believes true leadership is quiet and gentle—much less about our “labels” and more about the presence and authenticity we bring to the table. She keeps Margaret Thatcher’s quote about leadership ever in mind: “Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren’t.”

Theresa is certified to facilitate you one-on-one through Steps One to Three of the OMC Program. Theresa works on the Pathways of Light team of Step Four facilitators, and she may also facilitate you through a portion of this final step of the training.

Theresa’s spiritual work is a labor of Love for her. She leads with care and compassion, creating a warm, nurturing space to promote healing and transformation. She offers these services with the sincere desire to assist others along their path of awakening.
