Father, We Choose Your Peace

Father, we are like You. No cruelty abides in us, for there is none in You. Your peace is ours. And we bless the world with what we have received from You alone. We choose again, and make our choice for all our brothers, knowing they are one with us. We bring them Your salvation as we have received it now. And we give thanks for them who render us complete. In them we see Your glory, and in them we find our peace. Holy are we because Your Holiness has set us free. And we give thanks. Amen. (A Course in Miracles T-pI.170.13)

Today we remember to receive the gifts of our Father… We let God’s Light and understanding permeate every activity we get involved in today… We receive God’s peace and Light and extend God’s peace and Light… This is our focus for today… We let God’s blessings carry us through the day… And we give thanks for another happy day!

Finding Freedom Through Accepting Innocence

The mind that serves the Holy Spirit is unlimited forever, in all ways, beyond the laws of time and space, unbound by any preconceptions, and with strength and power to do whatever it is asked. Attack thoughts cannot enter such a mind, because it has been given to the Source of love, and fear can never enter in a mind that has attached itself to love. It rests in God. And who can be afraid who lives in Innocence, and only loves? (A Course in Miracles W-pI.199.2)

Following the Holy Spirit through the day frees us from the bondage of the ego thought system. Accepting our freedom is our purpose now. Every minute of every day provides another opportunity to rise above and see the Love that lies behind the ego’s image-making. The Holy Spirit is with us every moment as we go through our day.

Today we resolve to accept the gift of freedom the Holy Spirit has for us… Today we listen and follow… Today we let Holy Spirit’s inspiration guide us as we are led to let go of the ego’s fear thoughts and let them be replaced by Holy Spirit’s gift of peace.

Finding Peace

Father, I come to You today to seek the peace that You alone can give. I come in silence. In the quiet of my heart, the deep recesses of my mind, I wait and listen for Your Voice. My Father, speak to me today. I come to hear Your Voice in silence and in certainty and love, sure You will hear my call and answer me. (A Course in Miracles W-pII.221.1)

In this chaotic world, everyone is searching for peace. We already have and are peace, but we don’t realize it because we believe in a false image of what we are. The quest for specialness denies the oneness of Love and so we do not experience Love’s peace and innocence as what we are. It is time for a new quest. This quest needs a different Guide That will lead us to the place where we will remember our real Identity. There we will find the peace we seek.

This quest requires just one thing of us: The willingness to loose the world from all we thought it was. The strength of God supports us in this quest. All that is asked of us is that we be willing to turn over all our thoughts about the world to our Guide. He will dust away the debris of meaningless images and show us the Light we are. He will bring us to the peace of that ever present Light and we will remember that we remain at Home in the Heart of peace.

Our practice today is to offer all our thoughts to our inner Guide to let them be cleansed of all interferences that have hid the Light of the world from our awareness.

Accepting the Strength of Heaven

To your most holy Self all praise is due for what you are, and for what He is Who created you as you are. Sooner or later must everyone bridge the gap he imagines exists between his selves. Each one builds this bridge, which carries him across the gap as soon as he is willing to expend some little effort on behalf of bridging it. His little efforts are powerfully supplemented by the strength of Heaven, and by the united will of all who make Heaven what it is, being joined within it. And so the one who would cross over is literally transported there.

Your bridge is builded stronger than you think, and your foot is planted firmly on it. Have no fear that the attraction of those who stand on the other side and wait for you will not draw you safely across. For you will come where you would be, and where your Self awaits you. (A Course in MIracles T-16.III.8-9)

Accepting the help of Heaven is our practice for today. This takes a willingness to be helped, which means letting go of thinking we can do anything on our own. Allowing our mind to be quiet and open paves the way for all the help of Heaven to be received.

Today we will be kind and gentle to ourselves as we are willing to accept Heaven’s help. As we practice this we receive Heaven’s blessings and share them with the whole Sonship.

Opening to Holy Spirit’s Guidance

Our doing in the world can be chaotic or peaceful, depending on which guide we choose to follow. The ego’s guidance always carries underlying fear and its primary intent to seek and not find means it always leads to chaos.

On the other hand, the Holy Spirit’s goal is always to lead us to the experience of the peace of our true Self. This peace is reflected in our doing in the world as ease, gentleness and helpfulness. There is no conflict in peace,so our doing as guided by Spirit is free of anxiety or strain.

Our practice today is to open to Holy Spirit’s guidance in each moment, following His lead in the way of gentleness and ease. With this practice it will be an inspired day.

Living in the World But Not of It

We have help with navigating through the clouds of illusions. Our job today is to let the Holy Spirit be the Driver of the bus. The clouds still seem very real to us and, because they seem so real, we still find it easy to get lost in them. It is only our inner Teacher, the Holy Spirit, That is never deceived by the clouds. If we are willing, He shows us how to move past them with gentleness and ease.

Because it has been so discouraging to be the navigator on our own, our readiness to let Holy Spirit take the lead is ever growing. We now see that it is not in our best interest to decide what anything means on our own or to bring our past learning to the present circumstance. Today we are ready to step back throughout the day and let the Holy Spirit take the wheel.

We are ready to step back and listen for a better way to perceive each circumstance. We are ready to practice letting go and letting God, instead of trying to make decisions with the ego. We are ready to see past the clouds to the truth. We are ready to see the dream stories as illusions and let go of insisting they are real. We are ready to be shown how to live in the world but not of it. This practice is what today is for.

Seeing Past Error to the Truth

To forgive is to overlook. Look, then, beyond error and do not let your perception rest upon it, for you will believe what your perception holds. Accept as true only what your brother is [God’s Son], if you would know yourself.

…You do not understand how to overlook errors, or you would not make them. It would merely be further error to believe either that you do not make [errors], or that you can correct them without a Guide to correction. And if you do not follow this Guide, your errors will not be corrected.

Follow the Holy Spirit’s teaching in forgiveness, then, because forgiveness is His function and He knows how to fulfill it perfectly. (A Course in Miracles T-9.IV.1:2-4;2:2-4;6:1)

It is time to give up trying to forgive. Instead, it’s time to give all our unforgiving thoughts to the Holy Spirit, Who will guide us truly to see beyond the seeming errors to the truth that we are one in God’s Love. This can never change.

The Holy Spirit will always show us the truth in our brothers and ourselves. The ego cannot see the truth because it is itself a lie. It is time to turn our backs on the ego and look solely to the Holy Spirit as our Guide for all our seeing. This is how we accept the Atonement for ourselves and remember that we remain innocent and whole, safely within God’s Love.
