We Are Free to Return to Love

This world will change through you. No other means can save it, for God’s plan is simply this: The Son of God is free to save himself, given the Word of God to be his Guide, forever in his mind and at his side to lead him surely to his Father’s house by his own will, forever free as God’s. He is not led by force, but only love. He is not judged, but only sanctified. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 125, W-pI.125.2. See also ACIM Lesson 125 Insights.)

God is only Love and Love does not condemn. Thus there is no reason to fear God because all He ever gives is Love, and He gives It without limit or judgment. As part of His gift of Love, He has given us a Guide, an Inner Teacher in our minds to teach us how to release ourselves from the mistaken belief that we are separate from God. We have already been given the means to forgive the past and welcome the Love that is ever present in the eternal now.

As we are willing to accept His help, our inner Teacher will help us see that our brother is also only Love, created the same as us and one with us. As we see this, we learn that we are also only Love and, together with our brother, one with our Creator and our Source. Today we are willing to be taught how to free ourselves from fear and guilt and return to Love.

Our True Home Is in God’s Peace

You rest within the peace of God today, and call upon your brothers from your rest to draw them to their rest, along with you. You will be faithful to your trust today, forgetting no one, bringing everyone into the boundless circle of your peace, the holy sanctuary where you rest. Open the temple doors and let them come from far across the world, and near as well; your distant brothers and your closest friends; bid them all enter here and rest with you.

You rest within the peace of God today, quiet and unafraid. Each brother comes to take his rest, and offer it to you. We rest together here, for thus our rest is made complete, and what we give today we have received already. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 109, W-pI.109.8:1-9:3. We are returning to our right mind, where we rest in God’s peace and joy… We are returning to our true nature — Love. We are remembering that we never left Love, even though we may dream of conflict, scarcity and death… As we remember the truth about ourselves and every brother, we call all to join with us in our rest… in our peace…

We remember that what is true about our one Identity is true for every brother… We remember that every brother is safe in God along with us… We remember that every brother is God’s pure Love and Light along with us… We remember that every dream story of imagining that we are different and alone is meaningless…

We free ourselves from the radical ups and downs that the ego thought system brings… We feel the stability and steadiness of God’s changeless Love… We remember we are safe eternally as pure Spirit in the Heart of God, our true Home.

We Allow the Prison Doors to Be Opened

God’s answer is some form of peace. All pain
Is healed; all misery replaced with joy.
All prison doors are opened. And all sin
Is understood as merely a mistake.

Father, today we will forgive Your world, and let creation be Your Own. We have misunderstood all things. But we have not made sinners of the holy Sons of God. What You created sinless so abides forever and forever. Such are we. And we rejoice to learn that we have made mistakes which have no real effects on us. Sin is impossible, and on this fact forgiveness rests upon a certain base more solid than the shadow world we see. Help us forgive, for we would be redeemed. Help us forgive, for we would be at peace. (W-pII.359)

Today we let peace flow through our mind like a river… It gently washes away all guilt and fear… Today we let God in… For fear of God is done…

Today we place our trust in the strength of God and not our own. We remember that we are being carried… We step back and listen to Holy Spirit’s guidance as often as possible… We let ourselves be led… We remember that we know nothing on our own…

We are filled with gratitude as we receive Love’s blessings of peace an joy… And we give thanks as we allow the prison doors to be opened… The light of Truth comes streaming in and we share Love’s peace and joy with everyone equally…

Deciding to Accept Our True Self

The power of decision is my own. This day I will accept myself as what my Father’s Will created me to be.

Then will we wait in silence, giving up all self-deceptions, as we humbly ask our Self that He reveal Himself to us. And He Who never left will come again to our awareness, grateful to restore His home to God, as it was meant to be.

In patience wait for Him throughout the day, and hourly invite Him with the words with which the day began, concluding it with this same invitation to your Self. God’s Voice will answer, for He speaks for you and for your Father. He will substitute the peace of God for all your frantic thoughts, the truth of God for self-deceptions, and God’s Son for your illusions of yourself. All anxiety, sadness, depression, sense of unworthiness, anger, frustration, fear and guilt come from believing that we are not as God created us. It comes from the denial of God’s Will for us.

God’s Will for us is perfect happiness. He has given us all His Love. When we accept what God willed us to be, we are happy, know that we are loved and at peace.

We have the ability right now to make the decision to accept what God willed us to be. We can accept His gift of happiness. We can accept His gift of Love. We can accept His gift of peace. When we accept this, we accept God’s Will as our own, which it is in truth.

Today we can take a giant stride toward remembering we are at Home in God.

Let Love Decide

“You have the right to all the universe; to perfect peace, complete deliverance from all effects of sin, and to the life eternal, joyous and complete in every way, as God appointed for His holy Son. This is the only justice Heaven knows, and all the Holy Spirit brings to earth. Your special function shows you nothing else but perfect justice can prevail for you. And you are safe from vengeance in all forms. The world deceives, but it cannot replace God’s justice with a version of its own. For only love is just, and can perceive what justice must accord the Son of God. Let love decide, and never fear that you, in your unfairness, will deprive yourself of what God’s justice has allotted you.” (T-25.VIII.14)

The practice of letting Love guide all decisions is the practice of deciding on the foundation of Truth. Love offers only Love. It recognizes fear and guilt as nothing more than a call for Love and answers with Love. When we are willing to let Love guide all our decisions, our actions in the world will always be truly helpful.

To follow this path, we must be willing to step back from the values we give things and beliefs in the world and turn to the Voice for God within. It is this Voice that will teach us Love’s truth and show us how to respond with Love through forms in the world that are helpful and bring peace that calms the fears of the ego.

Today we would let Love decide.

Accepting Our Place in the Heart and Mind of God

You are one Self, united and secure in light and joy and peace. You are God’s Son, one Self, with one Creator and one goal; to bring awareness of this oneness to all minds, that true creation may extend the allness and the unity of God. You are one Self, complete and healed and whole, with power to lift the veil of darkness from the world, and let the light in you come through to teach the world the truth about yourself.

You are one Self, in perfect harmony with all there is, and all that there will be. You are one Self, the holy Son of God, united with your brothers in that Self; united with your Father in His Will. Feel this one Self in you, and let It shine away all your illusions and your doubts. This is your Self, the Son of God Himself, sinless as Its Creator, with His strength within you and His Love forever yours. You are one Self, and it is given you to feel this Self within you, and to cast all your illusions out of the one Mind that is this Self, the holy truth in you. Ultimately we all have one goal: To bring awareness of our oneness in God’s Love to all minds. That seems like a lofty goal. But the goal is achievable through one simple practice. The practice of stepping aside in each moment to allow the wisdom and vision of the Holy Spirit to come through is how we let Holy Spirit teach us to see the reality of Oneness.

This is the practice of forgiveness. Each time we remember to do this, we are fulfilling our purpose. We take a step closer to the experience of God’s peace. We take a step closer to the experience of God’s joy. Adversaries are transformed into friends, for we recognize our shared goal. As we join with our brothers in our shared goal, we are accepting our one Self and accepting our place in the heart and Mind of God.

Teach Only Love

…to teach is to learn, so that teacher and learner are the same. It also emphasizes that teaching is a constant process; it goes on every moment of the day, and continues into sleeping thoughts as well.

To teach is to demonstrate. There are only two thought systems, and you demonstrate that you believe one or the other is true all the time. From your demonstration others learn, and so do you.

Each teaching-learning situation involves a different relationship at the beginning, although the ultimate goal is always the same; to make of the relationship a holy relationship, in which both can look upon the Son of God as sinless. There is no one from whom a teacher of God cannot learn, so there is no one whom he cannot teach. However, from a practical point of view he cannot meet everyone, nor can everyone find him. Therefore, the plan includes very specific contacts to be made for each teacher of God. There are no accidents in salvation. Those who are to meet will meet, because together they have the potential for a holy relationship. They are ready for each other. (A Course in Miracles, M-in.1:5-2:3;M-3.1:2-8)

We teach with our thoughts, whether our body seems to be alone or with another body, even while the body sleeps. Our thoughts reflect what we believe. If our thoughts are about fear, guilt and judgment, we are believing we are separate and teaching that we are separate, alone and guilty.

This is why the Course tells us that we change the world by changing our thoughts about the world. We change our thoughts by changing what we believe. Do we believe the ego story of separation, sin, fear and guilt? Or do we believe the Holy Spirit’s message that we remain Love as Love created us, innocent and complete?

To change our thoughts and teach innocence and Love, we need to let ourselves be led by the Teacher of Love, Who is not deceived by the ego’s stories of separation and fear. The Holy Spirit will guide us truly to see past the false images to the changeless, eternal Love that is ever present. We need only be willing to follow.
