See the Love of God in Everyone

Robert:
Last night I woke up with the thought that I don’t deserve to live in a castle any more than I deserve to live in a box; I don’t deserve relationships with any bodies any more than I deserve to live in isolation from other bodies; I don’t deserve to be known by everyone in the world any more than I deserve to be known to no one. This is because nothing in the world is worthy of God’s Son. His worth is established by God and can never change. Only God’s gift of Love is worthy of His Son. His Son deserves nothing less and there is nothing else.

A Course in Miracles assures me that I am God’s Son, along with everyone. The image of a body with a personality is just a false story. If I think anything that happens to that identity has any affect on me, I have forgotten What I am. I am identifying with a made up image that could never be the truth.

My real Identity is Love and nothing else. I share that Identity with everyone. If I see anyone, including myself as anything but Love, I am not seeing with true vision. When I shift my attention, even for a moment, to true vision, the Love I see is so joyous and so peaceful that the images of the world fade. This is the vision of the world I want to keep in my mind.

Today I call upon the Love of God in me to help me see that Love throughout the day. I am grateful that I am given the means to have this experience.

Mary:
Love is one. This is what I am to remember today. My practice is to remember that Love is one in every situation throughout the day.

Let Go of Belief in the Story

Mary:
Yesterday evening, we watched the move, “The Queen,” with Helen Mirren in the title role. Very early this morning, I woke up with that movie in my mind. Spirit was there with me as we reviewed the movie together. We saw that even though the queen had a life of wealth and privilege, her life was still a struggle. Her life was a disappointment and did not go the way she wanted it to.

Spirit gently reminded me that every life story, as long as we choose to believe in it, is a struggle. The only way out of the struggle is to forgive, or let my belief in the story go. Inside us all is the truth that we are all still joined in the one Mind of perfect Love. We have been given all of God and we cannot lose what we have been given. And because we are all one, we share the Mind of God as one. This means we all have it all; there is no lack of any kind. There is no guilt, and because we are eternal, there is no birth and no death.

I see now that the way out of every struggle is to hand it over, not to try to make it work out the way I want it to. The truth is that only Love is. Only God is. There is nothing else. The stories of separation into different identities are nowhere and nothing. We all share one Mind. As we are willing to let the awareness of Love’s eternal Presence return to our mind, we find peace. We find happiness. We find that we have All That is, because we share All That is with everyone. We share one universal Mind forever.

I am seeing now how important it is that I give up my belief in all the stories of separation and separate identities. This is the meaning of forgiveness. I don’t have to try to change the oneness of God. I can accept God’s gift of oneness instead of trying to replace it with separation. Accepting the truth is all I want and all I need to find everlasting happiness.

Robert:
To forgive the world I need to recognize that there is no value in it. I cannot look to the ego to learn this. The ego teaches only one lesson — that separation is real and guilt is justified. It is clear that I have learned the ego’s lesson well. But this lesson has not brought me peace nor happiness. In fact it has brought me the opposite.

To learn the lesson that will set me free I need to turn to the Light of Love within me and let It show me what is really there. The Light of Love will show me that no form has any value and It will teach me to see the Love that is everywhere. Like everyone, all I really want is Love. I have been mistaken about what Love is. But as I am willing to see with the Light of Love that is within me, I will learn to let go of the barriers to the awareness of Love’s Presence.

My prayer today is to let the strength of Love in me guide my seeing. This is how I will learn to recognize the valuelessness of the images of the world and see the Love that is the truth in every brother and in all things. I welcome this lesson today.

Welcoming the Peace of God

Robert:
Today we read in A Course in Miracles, “Consider but what you believe will comfort you, and bring you happiness. …One question should be asked of all of them, ‘Is this what I would have, in place of Heaven and the peace of God?’” (W-pI.185.8:4,8)

It is really helpful for me to look at the things in the world that I think will comfort me or make me happy. There are many things I used to think that I wanted or would make me happy that I no longer value. I am grateful that ACIM has helped me learn what is really valuable. Because I have let go of giving value to these things I can say I am in the happiest time of my life.

Yet there are still things in the world I think I need or want. When I don’t seem to have these, I don’t feel happy or at least my happiness and peace are limited. I experience varying degrees of impatience, frustration or disappointment if these things I want are not in my experience. I am clearly valuing these forms in place of Heaven and the peace of God.

So I may be saying I want the peace of God, but I am attempting to define the form in which this will appear. But Heaven and the peace of God are formless and limitless. To attempt to define them to fit within a form makes Heaven unknown to me, though it is all around me.

I have an opportunity today to move closer to knowing Heaven and the peace of God. Today I offer the things I think I want in this world to the Holy Spirit and ask for the strength of God in me to help me release them and open to the recognition of the Love that is in me and all around. That Love is Heaven. The strength of God in me will show me that those appealing forms have no value and I will recognize that the peace of God is all I really want.

Mary:
The truth is the peace and Love of God is What we all are. Right now the whole Sonship is in God and of God. We all are What God is because there is no separation and no division. This is the truth right now.

Today it is my opportunity to open to the truth that we are all the same universal Love and nothing else. We all rest in God and our dreams really mean nothing and do not matter. Returning to this truth is what today is for. Forgiving, or letting go of dreams, is all that time is for. Remembering that the peace of God is all I really want opens the gate. It just takes a little willingness to let the truth return to my mind. This is my practice for today.

The Quest to Remember Love

Robert:
As I observed all the proceedings leading up to and including the Super Bowl last weekend, I became aware of the years of planning, strategizing, effort and pain that went into the quest for that special status of super bowl winner. It was interesting to observe that within minutes of the conclusion of the game the question was being asked of the winner, “Can you do it again next year?” It clearly demonstrated that specialness does not last.

We each have our own version of our ‘Super Bowl’ quest. When we are ego directed, we are always in some way seeking the specialness that will help us feel valuable, safe and appreciated. This is the best the ego can offer as a substitute for the eternal completion in Love that is given by God. The ego’s offering can never satisfy because it is never more than an empty image that will not last. There is nothing the ego can offer that is worthy of the Son of God.

A Course in Miracles is teaching us that all these quests in the world do not deserve our attention because they offer us nothing. All we really want and all we really need is to remember the Love given us by God. It is already ours and can never be lost, but our search for specialness makes us unaware of what we already have. The way out of this futile search is to choose the Holy Spirit as our Guide in each moment. He will teach us where Love is and help us see that Love is all we really want. As we accept His guidance, we will learn to see the Love that is ever present — the Love we all are.

Today is another day to practice letting Holy Spirit guide all my seeing and all my doing.

Mary:
Every moment I am choosing which guide to follow — the ego or the Holy Spirit. What I see shows me the guide I have chosen. The ego will always show me differences — different bodies with separate minds. The Holy Spirit shows me the one Source of Love That resides in the heart of everyone. The Holy Spirit helps me see the eternal truth of Love that is really there beyond the appearance of differences.

Today my practice is to step back and willingly choose to see through Holy Spirit’s eyes. This practice brings me all I really want and need. It brings me to the Heart of God. It brings me to the Truth that can never be changed.

Learn to Welcome God’s Love

Robert:
The ego is always looking for evidence that it exists. Being the idea of separation, it always looks for separate images. This is why the body, the ego’s chosen home, was made to only be able to see separate images. When we rely on what the body’s eyes see, we block all awareness of the Spirit of Love we all are.

This is why the path to waking up requires that we learn to choose a different way of seeing. We need to practice allowing the Holy Spirit’s vision to show us the truth beyond the images the ego (body) sees. The process of awakening from the dream is a process of shifting our attention from the ego’s way of seeing to our true Self’s way of seeing. A Course in Miracles tells us that the first thing we need to learn is that the ego’s way of seeing does not bring us what we really want. In fact, it brings us pain. Simultaneously we need to learn that our true Self’s way of seeing brings us lasting happiness, deep peace and Love so profound it is indescribable in the world.

This is a gradual process because when we are deeply invested in the ego belief system, Love is terrifying because it seems that it would mean the end our identity. But as we are willing to loosen our grip on the belief that we are separate and start to open our hearts to the lesson of Love that our true Self brings, we gradually learn to welcome Love instead of fear it.

Today I will welcome Love by practicing staying in peace and holding my mind open to the Holy Spirit’s lessons in Love. The possibility of joy is limitless.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Today, practice seeing past the camouflage of the ego to the Heart of Love That resides in everyone you see today or even think of.

God’s Love is What everyone is and What you are. Let yourself remember this today. It is worth the vigilance. It is God’s gift to you. And because we are one Self, it is God’s gift to everyone. Let yourself receive the gift of Love today.

Choose with Holy Spirit Today

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Remember you are being carried. Remember that your only choice is between joining with the ego or joining with Me. When you choose to join with Me, I help you see the dream differently. I help you see past images of separate bodies to the truth. I help you see the Christ That lies behind the images of separation.

I remind you that you are still healed and whole, and that the dream is just a dream. I remind you to do your part in the healing of the mind that made up the dream. As you consistently practice choosing to see through My eyes, I will show you that the Light of God is all there is to see. Innocence is all there is to see. Let yourself be carried, and you will be brought to the truth.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
The key to happiness is learning what matters and what does not. You have taught yourself that the images of the world you have made have meaning and therefore matter. This lesson you have taught yourself has blinded you to all that is real.

Resign as your own teacher. Choose My lessons of Love in place of your lessons of fear. My lessons will teach you what truly matters. These are happy lessons that release you from fear and return you to the quiet joy that is your natural state. You choose my lessons when you refuse to interpret what the body’s eyes show you on your own.

Join with Me today to see as I see and we will have a happy day together.

What Do I Want to See?

Robert:
All I really want is to be happy. A Course in Miracles tells me that God’s Will for me is perfect happiness. So if I want to be happy, all I need to do is accept God’s Will as my own.

But if I think forms in the world will make me happy, I will seek those forms and deny God’s Will for me. I will seem to experience happiness when those forms that I value show up in my perception. But because the forms are empty images, they will not last. And with their disappearance, the happiness I seem to feel will fall away. This is the cycle that comes with the ego’s mantra, “Seek and do not find.”

The key to accepting and experiencing the happiness God has given me is to withdraw the value I have given to forms in the world. Forgiveness is how I withdraw value from the images of the world. As I practice letting Holy Spirit guide all my seeing, I am freed of false values and I make way for the changeless happiness and Love of God.

Today is another happy day of practice in stepping back and letting Holy Spirit lead the way.

Mary:
Do I want God’s oneness or do I want the ego’s images of separation? The world I see will reflect what I want to see.

Asking myself this question frequently today will help bring me back to what I really want. I want to remember God’s Love. I want to extend God’s Love. Asking this question frequently will help me remember to let the Holy Spirit show me the truth of oneness behind the ego’s images of separation. This practice helps me remember that Heaven is here, right now. Anything else is just an illusion that is not true. This how I wake up to Where I am eternally, and I joyfully see that everyone is There with me. Heaven is the decision I must make.
