Accepting Perfect Happiness

…sin [separation] is not real, and all that you believe must come from sin will never happen, for it has no cause. ³Accept Atonement with an open mind, which cherishes no lingering belief that you have made a devil of God’s Son. ⁴There is no sin. ⁵We practice with this thought as often as we can today, because it is the basis for today’s idea.

God’s Will for you is perfect happiness because there is no sin, and suffering is causeless. ²Joy is just, and pain is but the sign you have misunderstood yourself. ³Fear not the Will of God. ⁴But turn to It in confidence that [God’s Will] will set you free from all the consequences sin has wrought in feverish imagination. ⁵Say:

⁶God’s Will for me is perfect happiness.
⁷There is no sin; it has no consequence.

³You are set on freedom’s road, and now today’s idea brings wings to speed you on, and hope to go still faster to the waiting goal of peace. ⁴There is no sin. ⁵Remember this today, and tell yourself as often as you can:

⁶God’s Will for me is perfect happiness.

The cause of all our fear and guilt is the mistaken belief that we have changed what God created as His Son. We have accepted a false identity in a dream that could never be real. All the pain and lovelessness that we experience in the world is not God’s Will for His Son, our true Self.

God’s Will for us is perfect happiness. The fact that we do not experience His joy does not mean He has changed His Will. It only means that we are refusing to accept His Will because we believe separation and specialness is more to our liking. To avoid acknowledging the price we pay for this preference, the ego directs us to project our belief on an outside world. This is the ego’s sleight of hand to hide the fact that it is only our mistaken belief that denies the Love and joy that is God’s Will for us.

We need to remember that joy and peace are God’s Will for us. The acceptance of this fact is our release from the hell of the ego’s denial.
