Accepting the Limitless Love We Are

Selfishness is of the ego, but Self-fullness is of spirit because that is how God created it. The Holy Spirit is in the part of the mind that lies between the ego and the spirit, mediating between them always in favor of the spirit.

The extension of God’s Being is spirit’s only function. Its fullness cannot be contained, any more than can the fullness of its Creator. Fullness is extension. The ego’s whole thought system blocks extension [of Love], and thus blocks your only function. It therefore blocks your joy, so that you perceive yourself as unfulfilled. Be confident that you have never lost your Identity and the extensions [of Love] which maintain It in wholeness and peace. Miracles are an expression of this confidence. They are reflections of both your proper identification with your brothers, and of your awareness that your identification is maintained by extension. The miracle is a lesson in total perception. Our Identity is Spirit (see Workbook Lesson 97). We are not a body (Lessons 201-220). When we believe we are a body, we accept the ego thought system of separation, which blocks our awareness of our true Identity as Spirit. Because of this blockage, we are not aware of our true Self’s eternal extension of Love, our only function.

Joy is a characteristic of Creation — the extension of Love. When we are unaware of our extensions of Love, we do not experience joy. Thus our misidentification with the ego is depressing.

Fortunately God placed the Holy Spirit in our mind to guide us to let go of our mistaken belief in a separate identity and awaken to the unified Spirit of Love we are. We need to question everything we now believe about our world and what we are. As we ask the Holy Spirit to teach us the Reality beyond the appearances in the ego world, we learn to recognize illusions as meaningless, with no effects.

The Holy Spirit demonstrates to us that only Love is real. He teaches us to see Love in every brother and learn that this Love reflects What we are. We welcome these lessons in Love by asking for the Holy Spirit’s help all through the day.
