Accepting the Time of Christ

Let no despair darken the joy of Christmas, for the time of Christ is meaningless apart from joy. Let us join in celebrating peace by demanding no sacrifice of anyone, for so you offer me the love I offer you. What can be more joyous than to perceive we are deprived of nothing? Such is the message of the time of Christ, which I give you that you may give it and return it to the Father, Who gave it to me. For in the time of Christ communication is restored, and He joins us in the celebration of His Son’s creation. (A Course in Miracles, T-15.XI.8)

To see others as bodies is to demand sacrifice by seeing them as limited and separate from the whole of Love. At the same time we are demanding the same sacrifice of ourselves because we could not see another as a body without seeing ourselves as limited to a body. The Love that is the truth in us is eternally complete and therefore needs nothing. Sacrifice and loss are inconceivable to Love. If we perceive death, which could only be of a body, we are demanding sacrifice because we are denying Love, which is Life.

In celebration of Christmas, the time of Christ, our practice today is to ask Holy Spirit to help us see past all images of bodies to the Love that is the truth in everyone. This is how we will see the face of Christ, the Light of Love that shines within the Heaven that joins us all in one. In this joyous unity we rest in perfect peace which cannot be disturbed. We accept ourselves as Love created us. And a merry Christmas it is indeed.
